Two workers received very small doses of 0.02 and 0.03 mSv and releases to the environment were well below regulatory limits. The event did not pose any risk to the public. Hydro-Québec is required to submit a detailed event report by mid-June. The matter will be discussed at the Commission’s regularly scheduled public meeting on May 3.

But right from Monteverdi to Sondheim artists have always been inspired to adapt their message to the medium. The whole range of technical possibilities opened up by mobile devices of all kinds, the internet, social media, and loads of things we haven’t even heard of yet are all opportunities to tell fascinating stories through music – which is fundamentally all that opera has ever done. This is the real opportunity and excitement of opera and new media, not looking at a close-up of Renee Fleming’s corsage. But unlike the latter, this new art form cannot be marketed for zillions of dollars.
