One of the issues that is of grave concern, when we talk about taxes, is almost equated to an evil. I remind members of this committee that taxes pay for services and that taxes, in many cases, are in fact an investment in our future. There is no better investment we can make than in the children and youth of this nation.

People outside the legal profession simply do not communicate to each other in the language of the Criminal Code. It would be a rare case indeed if an assailant would threaten his victim in words such as "Madam, if you don't comply with my requests, I'm going to sexually assault you and cause you bodily harm" or "I'm going to commit aggravated sexual assault upon you". It is equally unlikely that a threat would refer to the specific circumstances which must exist in law for those offences to be made out.

117:2.1 (1280.1) The Supreme is God-in-time; his is the secret of creature growth in time; his also is the conquest of the incomplete present and the consummation of the perfecting future. And the final fruits of all finite growth are: power controlled through mind by spirit by virtue of the unifying and creative presence of personality. The culminating consequence of all this growth is the Supreme Being.

In the case of the alcohol, many countries have agreed to set a limit of around 40% of alcohol. In some places this level may be exceeded, but of course, at present you cannot really sell nearly pure alcohol unless you add modifying substances which block the ingestion of alcohol or have very high taxes levied on it to discourage people from consuming it in that state. Given that with cannabis the increase in concentration also seems to increase the risks, all cannabis regulation should aim to set limits to the maximum concentration.

There is a place between dimensions, between worlds. To some it is known as the Outside, to others it is the Unknown. To those that truly know, however, it is called the Void. Despite its name, the Void is not an empty place, but rather the home of unspeakable things - horrors not meant for minds of men. Cho'Gath is a creature born of the Void, a thing whose true nature is so awful most will not speak its name. Its fellows have been poking at the walls that divide dimensions for a crack, a way into Runeterra, where they can visit their own personal paradise of horror upon the world. They are called the Voidborn, creatures so ancient and terrible that they have been removed from history altogether. It is rumored that the Voidborn command vast armies of unspeakable creatures on other worlds, that they were once driven from Runeterra by powerful magic lost to antiquity.

« Je voulais que Ashley sache que l’amour d’une famille est inconditionnel. Elle devait aimer sa sœur, qui était malade et qui avait besoin de nous. Nous sommes sa famille. Nous n’avons pas à aimer ce qu’elle fait. Mais, nous devons l’aimer elle. » Janet me dit que cet épisode la fait toujours pleurer. Elle

I wondered how this must have affected Ashley’s younger sister Jennifer. Watching her older sister go through all of this must have been traumatic. “Jennifer had had enough,” recalls Janet. “She’d get angry and walk away. This broke my heart.” Up until this point, I hadn’t seen Janet cry. It seemed as if she had to detach herself from the situation to stay strong. Almost as though she was numb herself. But as she recalled a touching conversation with her youngest, Jennifer, a tear began to roll down her cheek. “I wanted Jennifer to know that a family’s love is unconditional. She should love her sister who is sick and needs our help. We’re her family. We don’t have to like what she’s doing. But we have to love her.” Janet let me know that this part of the story always makes her cry. She gets overwhelmed thinking of other kids who don’t have their family’s unconditional love, who have no support, who fall through the cracks.

Alors que le public paie déjà pour subventionner la recherche en santé, l'on

While the public already pays to fund health research, it is inconceivable that the public should be required to pay yet again, to gain access to research results. Subscription to scientific journals can sometimes reach up to thousands of dollars that are paid directly from public funds. Aporia inscribes itself along the margins of this practice by allowing for a definite fracture to take place within the current trends in the field of scientific publication, which constitute the dominant model for the diffusion of knowledge. Aporia is, therefore, a free online journal. Following the footsteps of Deleuze and Guattari, the Aporia team firmly believes that freedom is only made possible in the margin; an autonomous space that is controversial, sometimes polemical and without censorship that does not sacrifice scientific and academic rigor. As such, the objective is to encourage access to scientific knowledge and to give the reader an opportunity to actively position himself/herself regarding the written words in order to give a plurality of meanings to the text.

It is true that section 2 of Part I of Schedule III to the Act does not specifically mention manufacture, production or sale of goods, as does section 1. However, the containers described in paragraphs (a) to (j) of section 2 are used in the food industry in producing and packaging tax-exempt goods. Paragraph 2(k), in the context of section 2 as a whole and as an element of Part I of Schedule III, is clearly meant to be read in a commercial context. The Tribunal cannot imagine what public purpose Parliament could have had in mind if it had intended that products such as empty thermos bottles or Tupperware containers should be tax-exempt, provided that it could be shown that, when filled by the consumer, they exclusively contained tax-exempt food or drink. Rather, the Tribunal is of the view that it is intended that, to come within the exemptions of section 2 of Part I of Schedule III to the Act, the items in issue are to contain tax-exempt goods at the time of sale and not to be sold empty. Further, while not determinative, the provisions of Memorandum ET 302 lend support to interpreting section 2 in a commercial context.
