21 The respondents here do not suggest they did not know why the conviction was entered.  Their position is that the trial judge ought not to have accepted the evidence of Sher Braich and Jarnail Dhaliwal on the identification issues because of the frailties and inconsistencies mentioned above.  Their posture is not one of feigned ignorance but of informed disagreement with the trial judge.

Many businesses have implemented an innovative GHG management program, only to see it languish due to a perceived lack of stakeholder support - when in fact, stakeholders were not even aware of the initiative because of poor communications.

In 2002, Wellspring held an information session on the financial implications of cancer in Toronto.  It was evident that the attendees were unaware of where to obtain the necessary information, of their eligibility for multiple programs, and of the correct procedures to gain access to the income supplement programs. Wellspring realized that each person had a unique situation and needed customized information, and that individualized appointments would be pivotal in helping clients.

Jimmy Komarjuk also shares his impressions of the South, where he went several times for training. He describes the sites, his work and the way he lived. He says that people did not know exactly why these sites were built, but they heard rumours about the risk of a Russian attack. He also tells us about his uncle, Peter Pitseolak.

Mom used to say this to my brother and I a lot; never without a mischievous twinkle in her eye. We always laughed it off, but we knew she was only half-joking: Mom always, always championed the cause of girls, even when they did not know their causes needed championing. I remember once traveling to visit Mom with a girlfriend who (bravely) told Mom she did not see the point of feminism. They were still talking when I went to bed. By morning, my girlfriend had changed her mind.

The first category of comments dealt with the definition of "advertising." Three respondents (17%) were unclear whether "advertising" included signage at point of sale.
"It gives me great pleasure to see that there is a significant convergence of views on the Lisbon Strategy between the Council, the Commission and the European Parliament. The purpose of the Lisbon agenda, which we launched in March 2000, was to make the European economy the most competitive in the world. We realised that we were not equal to the ambitions we had set ourselves, that things did not turn out as well as they might have and that European citizens did not know what we were talking about when we referred to the Lisbon Strategy.

We got a very warm welcome from landscape architects, public authorities and even our competitors! Many did not know that our alternative existed for green space maintenance. Since 2017 we have carried out several tests with public authorities and producers. Winning this trophy improved brand visibility and our corporate image. It recognized our innovative approach and proved we were not lagging behind our European competitors. We were very happy to win the Trophy!

In 1906, while working as a tutor at Barnard College in New York City, Brooks became engaged. At the time, married women resigned their positions both as a matter of course and because of university policy. Although Brooks eventually broke this engagement, she resigned anyway, perhaps defeated by the resistance she faced. She went to Paris to work with Marie Curie. Soon after, she married Frank Pitcher in London, and gave up physics entirely. She died in 1933, likely of leukemia. The dangers of working with radioactive substances were not known at the turn of the century, and pioneering nuclear physicists did not wear protective clothing. Although her career lasted a scant thirteen years, Brooks was able to make fundamental contributions to nuclear physics - a feat rarely matched even in careers that last a lifetime

As to the first issue, there were two items of evidence - the statement in a letter from the representative's instructing Japanese patent attorneys that they had no knowledge that she had died before the filing date of the appeal, and the information, appearing from the notice of appeal that she had died during 2002. The board saw in the first item a vague, second-hand and thus highly unreliable piece of evidence. However, the second item of evidence, while very general as to the date of death, did at least provide a year of death and could thus be said to establish that, at least on the balance of probability, the opponent had still been alive when the appeal was filed.

The Rideau Canal was technically completed in the fall of 1831, though it was not officially opened for business until the following spring. The grand opening took place during the week of May 24, 1832, when Lt. Col. By and his family, along with several of the canal’s contractors and various dignitaries, set out from Kingston to Bytown on board the steamboat Pumper to mark the occasion. Unbeknownst to the happy travellers, an order had also just set sail from England recalling By to London to face disciplinary action for going over budget on the project. By had little time to celebrate his accomplishments and those of his workers before returning to London to defend his actions in British court.

One organizational feature affecting the likelihood of finding information was identified only by business representatives. At least a few participants in each subgroup of business representatives (but primarily self-employed individuals) pointed to the issue of self-identification as something that affects the ability to find information. Specifically, some participants drew attention to the links under 'Business' that identify specific types of businesses (i.e. 'sole proprietors and partnerships', small and medium-size enterprises, and 'corporations'). This caused a certain amount of confusion in trying to find certain types of information because some participants did not know how to self-identify - because it was unclear that a certain type of information was linked to a specific type of business, or because multiple categories applied to their business, so they were unsure which one to choose.

And my grandfather was just a little kid when they were living in Wood Mountain, but his grandfather told him how his dad and that used to go out and steal horses from the Crow Indians at night. They would sneak up on them, spy on them and know where all the good horses were, and they’d go in…and the more horses a person had…they were used for trading. So the richer you got, a long time ago, there were no brands or anything…so once you stole a horse, it was yours. One of the things...their families moved camp close to a good hunting area, and where there was water and where the buffalos come and drink. And if there’s a buffalo jump, they plan on…they put stones where they can follow where they come back full speed…and you can’t see the buffalo jump until you’re right there. So the buffalos don’t know that, so if they run them there, and the boys haze them, and the guys hiding behind on the sides with blankets, and they’d jump up and they’ll turn them, and they’ll chase them, and they’ll rush them right in, and the other ones will push the other ones over, and a number of them will fall over and maybe some won’t fall, but they’ll push each other too, just like any other animal that’s scared. This way the women can just come there within a mile and start cleaning the buffalo, skinning and dry the meat, and take it back, and cook some…whatever they want. So all these little stories come about, maybe six stories on a hide would make up one hide painting, maybe more…depends.

I remember a conversation that I heard in a mini-bus. Ordinary people and farmers were talking about journalists. The gist of their conversation was that, when in the presence of journalists, you needed to be discreet and keep quiet. As they saw it, journalists reported everything that was said and were likely to quote people's names. They did not know that I was a journalist, and I realized that people do not appreciate being quoted or having their remarks reported. This shows to what extent the journalist's image unfortunately resembles that of an intelligence officer or informer. Having said that, many people often turn to journalists as a last resort in the belief that important information will safely reach the right place. It was only a few years ago that journalists had a good public image because of their commitment and the courage that some of them showed in the face of the military dictatorship. Today, the image of journalists has declined because of the fickleness demonstrated by some of them.

“The next thing I remember was we were once again moving. It was summer. Women, boys and girls were all packing. Dogs were packing stuff, too. Some small children who could not walk were being packed, and all the rest walked. The men were walking ahead hunting. Sometimes, the men would get a caribou or moose. At times, after camps had been made, boys and girls would go with dog packs to where caribou or moose was shot. Here they cut up the meat and packed it up for the dogs to take home. They also cut up meat suitable to be eaten and put it into their own packsacks then went home with the dogs. On some trips, I went along but did not do anything. I simply went along for a walk.

Despite these tools, communication often broke down between the attacking infantry and their headquarters in the rear. When this happened, commanders did not know the location of their troops and were unable to support them with accurate artillery fire, ammunition, or supplies. This failure in communication was never fully solved during the war.

What they didn't know was that neighbouring tribes coveted this location. Warriors from neighbouring tribes were therefore approached to chase Huitzitzil and his tribe away. The Aztecs put up a brave fight. Huitzitzil's skill with his long, pointed spear was outstanding. Just as the last of the fighters from the neighbouring tribes were at the point of taking refuge, an arrow soared through the air and pierced Huitzitzil's heart, killing him immediately.

People who had never participated in the arts before found it exciting and rewarding, finding a side of themselves they did not think existed. To us, that is what Culture Days is all about.

Elderly women used to make these for their husbands. The men would always wear them, even during a portage and during winter. When they wore these pouches, the Inuit envied them because the Inuit women couldn’t make pouches like that. The Cree women were the ones who were skilled at that. The Inuit men wanted them badly and sometimes they would actually try to grab the bags!
