Une fiche d’observations médicales apparemment datée du 17 décembre 1974 indique ceci : « L’impression clinique allait à l’encontre d’un lymphome, mais la lymphangiographie anormale effectuée au Victoria Hospital suggérait fortement un lymphome à l’abdomen. Cet homme a donc subi une laparotomie exploratrice par le Dr Johnston du service chirurgical; la laparotomie n’indiquait cependant aucune preuve de la maladie de Hodgkin. On a constaté que tous les organes fonctionnaient normalement. Un protocole de lymphangiographie a toutefois été mis en œuvre au Victoria Hospital, c’est-à-dire une splénectomie, une biopsie du foie, une biopsie du foie à l’aiguille, l’excision d’un ganglion lymphatique du mésentère et de la région rétropéritonéale, ainsi qu’une biopsie de la crête iliaque » (page 47).

A case history sheet apparently dated 17 December 1974 stated “the clinical impression was against a lymphoma but the abnormal lymphangiogram carried out at Victoria Hospital was very suggestive of lymphoma in the abdomen, so this man had an exploratory lapatomy carried out by the surgical service – Dr Johnston; however at laparotomy there was no evidence of any Hodgkin’s disease. All the organs were found to be normal. However, a lymphangiogram protocol was carried out at Victoria Hospital, i.e. a splenectomy, which biopsy of the liver, needle biopsy of the liver, lymph node excision from the mesentery and retroperitoneal area, and iliac crest biopsy (Page 47).
