Due to the needed rehabilitation of the current gunboat display, Parks Canada is investing to fulfill the long term goal of relocating the gunboat to Fort Wellington, where it will become part of Fort Wellington’s new 1812 exhibit. The relocation of this gunboat will provide a unique opportunity to engage visitors and help tell the story of the role that the British military played in the defence of Canada along the strategic St. Lawrence River during the early 1800s.

The Rack Railway Museum, in the Ribes Vila Station (Ribes de Freser), allows you to delve into the rack railway history of Vall de Núria. You can board the oldest locomotives such as “The Hunchback”, the E-3 Electric in its original state and the luxury lounge car, decorated with noble materials, which still runs on special occasions. The old docking mechanism on the rack as well as other characteristic features that have been part of the operation of this railway can also be seen in the exhibition. Vall de Núria aims to offer visitors a wide range of options that combine leisure with culture and help them to find out more about the different aspects, both historical and traditional, of the whole valley. The entrance is free and it opens from 8.30 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
