The remnants of its colonial past are still evident in Cape Town. Take a walk through the historic district, where you will find the Castle of Good Hope, a Dutch vestige of the city’s early years. Visit Bo Kaap, formerly the Malay Quarter, whose little cobbled streets hide magnificent houses and provide a lovely view over the bay. Then head down to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. The seafront is a lively part of Cape Town, dominated by the Clock Tower, a relic of the old colonial port. It is also here that you can satisfy all your shopping desires, as the Waterfront shopping centre houses many prestigious high-end fashion boutiques and jewellers. If you wish to revel in Cape Town’s beautiful surroundings, then go to the other side of Table Mountain to the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Stroll along the paths of this vast park, you might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a bird of paradise. Finally, go to Camps Bay to enjoy some stunning views. Once there, you will also find a number of great bars and restaurants in front of the bay to relax in, this is certainly a dream setting in which to watch the sunset.
