"It has a deep red root and rather thick leaves and all is good to eat when prepared in the kitchen. The root is counted among choice foods, and the juice which it yields on cooking is like a sugar syrup and very beautiful to look on for its vermilion colour." This is how, back in 1600, Olivier de Serres described the beetroot.

I suppose it was partly down to circumstances, and partly something I realised I was destined to do. I have always loved drawing and making things myself. I first tried out synthetic materials when I was at Olivier Serres School in Paris, and then I discovered glass, metal and porcelain at a workshop in Pantin. My interest in cooking, my love of beautiful objects, and the thrill of making things by hand are all central to my passion for ceramics. Beautiful chance-encounters along the way have inspired me to pursue this path.

The genealogy of Management texts that Pierre MUSSO develops will not be limited to classical texts from Taylorism-Fordism but will make an archaeology bringing to light some texts and some major moments, from the texts of the Abbot Suger, builder of the Basilica of Saint-Denis or Pope Alexander VI, or even Olivier de Serres in 1600, insisting on the contribution of the 19th century, including Saint-Simonian movement. The aim is to achieve an anthology over a long period, to highlight the deep roots of this managerial normativity, and to make a critical analysis of this corpus to contribute to an anthropology of the industrial religion.

Manolo Chrétien is fascinated by the industrial world, aeronautics in particular. Born from French astronaut Jean-Loup Chrétien, his work returns his childhood memories: a universe made of bright aluminium, hot tarmac and kerosene smells. It is essential to him to recapture the innocence of his vision as a child and to reveal the wonderment he felt. Determined to keep coherence between subject and material, Manolo uses a technique of fine art print on brushed aluminium, the metal used for the body of planes. He calls it Aluminations; a brilliant mix of illuminations, hallucinations and aluminium. His series, Nouveaux-Nez, is the result of a face-to-face interaction between the artist and the aircrafts he has seen taking off and landing from Paris to Tucson, since his early childhood.

Claire Marfisi’s creations make us think of collars, bib fronts or even carapaces yet her white porcelain pieces appear delicate and light. The ceramicist, who studied at the Olivier de Serres applied arts school in Paris, has perfected an exclusive technique that has become her signature: open squares, cut in sheets, interlace in creations that look like a cross between handknits and lace. In her Vincennes workshop, she assembles hundreds of articulated, generous shapes that are supple yet solid. These jewelry sculptures reflect Claire Marfisi’s taste for games of construction and sensitively define empty or full spaces with their unique, jingling sounds.
