I understand that we have a problem, and airline carriers told us as much when they appeared before the committee. Everybody needs to sit down together to discuss this issue. Airline carriers, the Liberals and the NDP should discuss the matter and introduce an acceptable bill. In the meantime, the bill we are currently discussing will not help the situation, but it may make it worse.

Drop-in tutorial sessions are your opportunity to ask questions of and seek clarification from your tutors. Tutors are prepared to deal with requests for help related to specific concepts and to provide guidance about applying those concepts. In other words, drop-in sessions function in much the same way as a professor's office hours - you should use them when you have something specific to address. Please do not come to drop-in sessions expecting a mini-lecture; the tutor will not provide a lecture, nor will s/he repeat the professor's lecture from the previous week.

"Although it can be very [difficult] to tell others at work about a urinary problem, it is probably better in the long run if the problem is severe enough," says Dr. Connell. "If a coworker is constantly leaving the work area, others may perceive them as lazy and irresponsible and start to question their work ethic."

If you're in debt, you're not alone. Consumer debt in Canada has been on the rise. Sometimes it's hard to know — or admit — if you have a problem with debt. You may be scared or overwhelmed. That's natural. But don't wait. Taking charge of your finances will make you feel better — you'll have less worry and anxiety.

Another myth is the counselling is a crutch for weak people who can't cope with life. In reality, there is nothing weak about seeking counselling. Counselling sessions are a vehicle for strong people who decide to face their challenges directly rather than allowing fear to rule their life. It takes inner strength to acknowledge a problem and seek to proactively and responsibly deal with the matter before it negatively impacts on the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

I talk to officers all over the world, and it's always the same — we know we've got a problem, we're working with advocacy groups, we're trying to improve — it's always been a struggle with this kind of crime. You have these cases where the victim is living with the offender, and where there's so much reluctance to come forward because of all kinds of internal and external pressures — it's an incredibly tricky situation. Often, you have domestic violence co-occurring with sexual assault and other crimes. I think as societal attitudes change and we encourage victims to come forward, and as police attitudes and policies modernize, you'll see things improve.

Listen to this (MP3, 590KB, it sounds a bit more electric in real life, but the sound volume is pretty much right). Oh, yes, my computer works, and I could finally reinstall OS X (which is amazingly simple, actually — when I saw people recommending an “Archive & Install” when something went wrong in your system, I was outraged, traumatized as I was by Windows, but it really is pretty innocuous) without losing power, and I’ve been able to use it for a few hours now. But it sounds like it’s going to explode. Yes, the sound comes directly from the power supply, and it starts as soon as power is on and only stops when power is off, and I have exactly zero doubt that it was returned by a “picky” customer and Apple decided it was just a cosmetic issue and it worked just fine. It doesn’t seem to be particularly overheating, but it doesn’t sound very reassuring, does it? I’m weary of leaving my computer on for too long, and leaving it on unattended is out of the question until I manage to get an other replacement. Why does technical support always have to be a losing fight? Why do they have to be so petty? Are they going to test my previous power supply for five minutes, decide it works, and send it back to another poor unsuspecting soul?
