Mr. Bernier: It depends on the department and on the number of minor changes made by each department. It can take a year or a year and a half. Occasionally, a series of amendments can be made during the same year, sometimes almost monthly. In other departments, amendments are brought in every two years.

In the seventeenth century, the effects of economic decline were to be felt right across the social spectrum and the church responded by cutting back on the great building projects of the previous century. A lack of ambitious plans and the austere renovation of existing doorways were the order of the day, clearly evidencing the financial ruin the country was suffering. As a result, the only doorways we find from this period are on convents and monasteries, and a few very simple examples on churches.

King eiders are found by the tens of thousands along shore leads in the spring as they wait for the snow to melt on their nesting grounds along the Arctic coast and islands. They winter at sea as far north as open water permits. Feeding down to depths of over 50 m, they are one of the deepest divers among the diving ducks. They feed mainly on mussels and other molluscs, crabs, sea urchins, sea stars, sea cucumbers and sea anemones, as well as algae.

Not necessarily. In fact, far from it. The concept of connected objects resting on open standards and technologies is inexpensive and does not require considerable financial wherewithal. In fact, it can be used to solve SME problems at a very low initial investment. Even the smallest companies can undertake such projects, as demonstrated by the numerous examples of crowdsourcing platforms. The Internet of Things is a vast innovation universe, and some of the innovations that have changed history started in a garage.

Harbour Porpoises are common in the Bay of Fundy. Brier Island at the southwest tip of Nova Scotia is a good place to see porpoises and other whales. Pothead or Pilot Whales have a large bulbous 'forehead' and during the summer can be seen from lookouts in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Humpback Whales can occasionally be seen from atop the cliffs of Grand Manan in the Bay of Fundy, and in Whitless Bay, Newfoundland. Minke and Fin Whales can be seen feeding on herring during the winter off Chebucto Head outside of Halifax.

The cone-shaped rock known as Homolka can be found at an elevation of 675 metres on cycle route No. 362 (Teplá - Bečov - Loket) in the vicinity of the village of Chodov near the town of Bečov. The unique rock formation, which has been protected since 1972 and declared a nature monument in 1997, is of volcanic origin and it is composed of basalt columns. Such nature monuments are usually called "basalt organs" and they are most often uncovered during stone mining in quarries. The astrolabe had a strong influence on various arts and has become the symbol of exploration and scientific knowledge. Examples can be seen in painting, sculpture and even on stamps, money and watches, on the page Astrolabe in arts. It is also not so rare to see an astrolabe and an armillary sphere in movies when a scientific lab is shown, such as with Dumbledore in Harry Potter or in the travelling bag of Guillaume de Baskerville in The name of the rose.

Influenced by the post-Second World War designs of Le Corbusier, this style takes its name from the term Béton Brut, or raw concrete, by which the markings of the exposed formwork remain evident on the final finish. The term later came to include the rusticated concrete masonry as seen in the work of Paul Rudolph. Brutalist architecture is very striking in its form, and often employs repetitive angular geometries. Brutalism was a popular style for institutional buildings in Ontario, as its period corresponded with the reinvestment in public infrastructure, high density housing and the boom in colleges and universities that took place in the 1960s and 1970s. Brutalism is relatively uncommon in Ontario’s religious building stock, though Brutalism’s trademark use of rough concrete is incorporated into many modern religious buildings.

Including the frill, the skull of this Vagaceratops irvinensis would be 1.4 m long in real life. At its widest, the frill would be 1 m. The first part of the name of this species of dinosaur recognizes one of the skull's characteristics: openings, or "chasms", in the frill. These openings are visible in the bare bones, and indentations are visible on the skin surface. It is likely the frill was useful for species recognition and display rituals, especially during courtship and combat (it would make the animal look larger).

An evaluation of the use of unenhanced Landsat-1 imagery for depicting features of the earth's surface, which is important to resource management, was conducted in central British Columbia. Sampling was conducted, using as many as six scales of photography, along with ground observations. Some features, such as water bodies, rivers, drainage systems, mountains, snow fields and contrasting vegetation types, can be readily distinguished. Other features, such as major powerlines, roads and railroads, can often be seen, especially when they pass through forested areas, but may be confused on some land types. Within the forested areas, tonal differences reveal broad age- and density-classes. Lodgepole pine was the only species that could be distinguished with any degree of reliability, and only when it occurred in large pure stands. Landsat imagery is most useful in monitoring dynamic events, such as forest harvesting, alterations in Lake levels, snow distribution and some erosion patterns.

The purple saxifrage plays a number of roles in Northern culture. The full blooming of the flowers indicated the time of year when young caribou are being born out on the land. The flowers of the purple saxifrage have a sweet taste and are eaten especially in communities where berries are not abundant. When eaten, the flowers can help relieve gastric problems, but, as with all herbal remedies, if eaten in excess can cause complications. The stems and leaves can be used to make tea. According to many Nunavummuit, the tea is best later in the season after the flowers have died. In times when tobacco was a valued commodity, the stems and leaves were often added to store-bought tobacco. As one of Nunavut's hardiest and most reliable plants, it is fitting that the purple saxifrage has been chosen as its Floral Emblem.
