Kyrgyz Republic: The Land and Real Estate Registration Project (FY00) supported the development of markets for land and real estate and increase their effectiveness. This was achieved by introducing a reliable and well-functioning system for the registration of rights and the creation of “Gosregister,” a state agency that established the legal and administrative basis for registration of land and real estate. By 2007, over 2.4 million immovable property objects had been registered; sales, leases and mortgages had grown, as did tax income and other economic benefits. About 45,000 mortgages valued at US$1.1 billion equivalent were registered in 2007.

Restoration of this room at the start of the 20th century has given it a medieval look. Here, as on most of the castle's walls, the decor has been created using tempera from models dating from the end of the 13th century. However, the oak columns are originals ones from the 13th century. The coffered ceiling and chimney date from the 15th century. This room is in the part of the castle previouslyy used as a residence, explaining the large windows dating from the 13th century. During the Savoy period, it was used as a dining room for the constable. During the Bernese period, it was divided in two: one part was used as a kitchen and the other as as sitting room.

" Sveda " passed into the Czech language as a word for a criminal or ragged fellow. In Germany, a saying still goes Bet Kind, bet Kind, morgen kommt der Schwede [3 ] . Nevertheless, the Articles of War had a considerable influence and served as a model for the later development of the law of war in Europe. Swedish commanders who served under Gustavus carried the Articles of War with them when they went abroad and thus spread the law and its fundamental rules on humanity and protection wherever they travelled.

St. Andrews United Church, originally a Presbyterian church, is especially valued for its bold use of Tyndall stone, a high-quality limestone commercially known as Manitoba Tyndall. Named for the rail stop from which it was first shipped, the fossil-laden stone, with its characteristic mottled appearance, has been used to detail hundreds of buildings across the country, including interior features of the reconstructed Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa. St. Andrews, with its simple form, massive stone walls, steep gable roof and pointed windows, also is a very fine expression of the Scottish parish churches that are its models. The well-crafted building, constructed by mason John Hart and carpenter George Cushnie, and entirely planned and built by volunteers employed at the Garson quarry, is a symbol of local dedication. Largely unaltered, the building, now used as a residence, is an important community landmark.

Twenty years after the German Historikerstreit, historian Götz Aly calls for a more comprehensive analysis of the Holocaust, without relativising the responsibility of the Germans. "With a pinch of Ernst Nolte" (the historian who advanced the highly controversial view that everything the Nazis did, with the exception of mass gassing, had been done before by the Soviets) – but a wider horizon. "The time has come for a complete overhaul of the way we understand the epoch of violent nationalism, and the politics of ethnic segregation, dispossession and annihilation in the 20th century. But new approaches should not, like Nolte in his obsession, begin with the Russian October Revolution, because this only leads to the historically optimistic illusion that the abominable elements of the 20th century can be reduced to totalitarian dictatorships and can therefore be held separate from everything that we perceive as progress and success today. It was, for example, Republican France which drew up the selection criteria which were later applied in the so-called Deutsche Volksliste in the areas of Poland which Germany annexed."
