It’s often been said that reading with low lighting can strain our vision. We do feel our eyes getting tired faster in situations like these, when reading takes more effort. A study published in the

Almost everyone worries that cancer or cancer treatment will be painful. While some people do experience pain, they may have pain only once in a while. Some people don’t have any pain at all. There are many ways to control and prevent pain, so living with cancer does not have to mean living with pain. If you are worried about pain, or if you are in pain, tell someone on your healthcare team. They are there to help you.

in order to ponder the situation of a conflict of interest between the dead and the living. Lately I have begun to think that a bigger 'diplomatic effort' ought to be made to reconcile the interests of the two sides. I can't help but feel that we have really neglected to make such an effort.

Congratulations to Vicka and Mario on the arrival of little Marija Sofia (born 13th January). May God bless their little daughter and keep her! We take this opportunity to wish all new mothers every blessing, that they might be courageous witnesses to life which is a gift from God. And to Our Lady's embrace we entrust all the little newborns and their families, especially those who suffer.

5.5.2 The LEITP takes a systematic approach to training new and existing users on new applications, offering group training tailored to user capabilities. However, a formalized IT training plan does not exist and needs to be developed. The need for a training plan becomes more important given the recent SIGNET 3 installation at the Mission, and the LEITP should perform a user survey to identify common training needs related to SIGNET 3. When developed, the IT training plan should be integrated into a Mission Training Plan.

The three fundamentals of Soto Zen School practice and faith are sitting, gassho, and worship. It is by sitting with a quiet mind, with our hands held together in gassho, and worshipping (expressing our reverence) that we are able to reflect on our everyday lives and practice the teaching of Buddha. Fulfilling this practice brings us peace of mind. To honor our ancestors is to repay our sense of gratitude for having received life from them. This is also to keenly feel that we have inherited not only our individual lives but the life of all things.

As I went on with my search, new questions emerged, and these helped me to focus on what I really desired.  I was accompanied in this journey by a priest, with whom I could share my experiences.  At one moment, I participated in an Easter retreat, which had “vocation” as its theme.  One of the speakers was a small sister dressed in casual clothes, and she attracted my attention.  That Sister was Ágota Baternay, a Sister from the Society of the Sacred Heart (who later died in Budapest in 2013). Upon meeting her I found everything I had been looking for: she respected my search; left me free in my decisions; and, she and her religious congregation represented the spirit of the Second Vatican Council.  Entering more fully into this journey, I started to feel that God’s dream for me is to dedicate my life to the freedom I resonated with in the Sacred Heart, even though all this was completely unknown to me at that time. I was overwhelmed with joy after this revelation!

Looking at all of us gathered here, I must say that, in spite of the happiness we may feel, we are a complicated assembly. We represent the 25 Member States of the European Union who share the same goal of charting a course towards, I hope, a better world. These 25 Member States may be subdivided into two groups, a subdivision to which, in other respects, I object: the 15 old Member States and the 10 new Member States. I am none too fond of this division between the old and the new. We are all 25 Member States that have the same dignity and share the same ambition. I would like to speak today about the ten States that joined us on 1 May 2004, because we are in Hungary and because I would like to pay tribute here in Hungary, to these countries that have changed from a command economy to a free and social market economy. I would like to pay tribute to the nations of Central and Eastern Europe who have managed to make such great changes to their economies and their social structures. I have to admire the performance of the nations of Central Europe and their fervour for reform, as compared to the multiple fatigues in the countries of old Europe, as a non-European once put it. There are then the 25 Member States of the European Union. There are the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which in Western Europe, where we love to exaggeratedly simplify things, we call the former Soviet Republics. There are also all the countries that form part of the European Stability Pact. Here I would like to particularly welcome the Balkan countries, by saying that we hope that, thanks to their European perspective, they will join us someday in the European Union so that we will be able to form the great European family to which we all aspire.

After spending 5 nights in Seminyak, Mantra was the ideal place to get in touch with the "real" Bali and to feel a whole lot closer to nature. Even on the drive from Seminyak we began to feel as though we were going to arrive somewhere tranquil and secluded and we were not wrong. Surrounded by the river, rice fields, villages and black sand beach at the end of the street, Mantra was the ultimate place to relax and unwind. The food is incredible, fresh and made to order, the staff quickly became family for us and assisted us with anything we asked, whilst also going above and beyond with little touches that made us never want to leave. We were lucky enough to have the entire lower part of the hotel to ourselves, but it is more than equipped to ensure everyone has a private and enjoyable stay. If you are looking to see Bali in it's true natural beauty and you enjoy listening to nothing but the calls of nature than Mantra is the place for you. Be sure to take a bike ride to the beach and get friendly with the locals, no haggling, no hassle and not many tourists made for a perfect retreat. We left Mantra with not only fond memories of the hotel but with a very soft spot in our hearts for the staff. From the management to cleaners, to the pool staff to the drivers, they really are what made our experience here so wonderful. We cannot wait to return. :)
