Ultimately, P.A.D. is not an attempt to be someone or something else but is rather an invitation to perceptual and physical play, a call to erase and re-inscribe, again and again. For themselves and for the audience, Mandafounis and Mazliah propose points of escape from customs of viewing the body, the self and the other, the craft of choreography as well as material and imagined limits of the everyday. What happens when we are led to forget how and what we have been trained to see, do and use?

This archaeological excavation in a given context, his personal history of dance as well as that of his collaborators, enables him to shift towards notions linked to other disciplines such as intertextuality, re-enactment or the Third landscape, and thereby to convoke a new poetics of gesture.
