"I want to share a few styles that I cannot resist. First up is Keel's Simple Diary, which literally just debuted over at TASCHEN, one of my favorite publishers. I've only had it for a couple of days, but I'm already smitten. I love the bright colors, the totally portable size, the back pocket for stashing...whatever. But mostly I love that it's already filled out for you! This is truly a diary for those who think they have nothing interesting to journal - you're virtually guaranteed to sound utterly witty and brilliant every day. Each page contains a few random questions - multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank...I even spotted a graph. You pick a page - go in order or don't, there's no judge here - answer the questions, ponder the extremely random quote on your page, and move on with your life. I love this because i know once i get started, i won't be able to resist it on a daily basis. This is most definitely going to be my go-to gift this year...stylish, clever, and only $15!"— ShoppingsMyCardio.com, Portland, USA

Zurückhaltende Bilder tragen sinnträchtige und ungelenke verbale Anhänge in Form von elliptischen Pressemitteilungen oder Titeln wie «If I Paint Crowned I’ve Had It, Got Me», 2008, eine vielsagende Paraphrasierung von Cé¬zannes Erklärung, er wäre am Ende, wenn er versuchen würde, die «gekrönte» Wirkung eines Stilllebens zu malen statt das Ding selbst.
Richard Aldrich (born 1975 in Hampton, Virginia) is a Brooklyn-based painter who exhibited in the 2010 Whitney Biennial. Although mostly abstract, Al¬drich’s paintings betray a distinctly lite¬rary sensibility, even as he targets what he has called the essential «unworld¬liness of experience.» Snippets of text and random words-UFO, the numeral 4-appear as decals or pencil scrawls, while lines incised with the back of a brush suggest writing once removed. Taciturn pictures carry evocative and ungainly verbal appendages in the form of elliptical press releases or titles like If I Paint Crowned I’ve Had It, Got Me, 2008, a telling paraphrase of Cé¬zanne explaining he would be ruined if he tried to paint the «crowned» effect of a still life rather than the thing itself.
