The Great Tree of Life animated by a multitude of figures from the entrance of the Cathedral extends its branches to the altar, is supported by a pair of elephants. We visit now Crypt : it extends within the Cathedral under the transect and is divided into 48 spans supported by 42 marble columns. This is the first example in Puglia land of an oratory crypt. But the cathedral also houses the remains of the Holy Martyrs of Otranto that Pope Francis was canonized in 2013. Nach wenigen hundert Metern stehen wir wieder an einer Gabelung: Die für Mountainbikes bestimmte Route verlässt die kleine Hochebene, um an das Flussufer zu gelangen, während ein anderer Weg weiter auf halber Höhe verläuft.

On the other side of a bridge you wiull reach the meadows of Vedlà, surrounded by a vast range of threes. The houses of this small village lie one the edge of the fields, in front of a chapel. After a few hundreds meters there will be a bifurcation. The mountain bike track leaves this little plateau, while another trail continues on the left. Following the second one you rist get into a steep climb, then the path gets flat, even if it's not as flowy as in the first part.

Time seems to have stood still at Sambuca Pistoiese. The town, with its castle which was an ancient episcopal feud, was definitively annexed to Pistoia in 1775. Today, traces of the walls and tower of the ancient fortress still remain. Also of particular interest is the church dedicated to San Jacopo (Saint James), or San Giacomo Maggiore (Saint James the Elder), patron saint of Pistoia; its construction is related to the position of the pilgrim road known as the Francesca della Sambuca road. From the town, there is also a good view of the convent with its Beata Vergine del Giglio oratory annexe.
