The board added that it could not normally be the case that an affidavit by a single person was sufficient to discharge the burden of proof to the strict standard that was required (quoting T 383/88 in this respect see also T 1046/96, T 1239/03, T 1006/03).

Against the background of educational expansion and skill-biased technological change the dissertation project addresses the question to what extent these interacting developments have an impact on occupational returns to education in the course of time. Particular attention is attached to the analysis of new occupational fields or occupations emerging due to rising skill requirements that are relevant for graduates from higher education. In contrast to the current state of research the dissertation project intends to investigate the long-term development over several decades as well as the change in recent years based on long-lasting Mikrocensus-serials. The first project phase is dedicated to the creation of a database, the collection of relevant literature and the elaborate investigation of developments both in the higher education system and in the occupational structure or labour market. The central analyses are engaged in the consideration of absolute as well as relative occupational returns (social class, occupational status, unemployment) over time. Subsequently, deepening research focuses on gender differences and differences between different types of tertiary degrees in the temporal development of occupational outcomes. The obtained results ought to clarify whether there is a devaluation of tertiary education over time. Additionally, the project tries to detect possible changes in the degree of association between educational and occupational system net of structural developments. On the one hand, the acquired knowledge is supposed to fill substantial research gaps in Germany. On the other hand, it should give direct policy implications for educational planning with regard to prospective educational supply and demand.

But the various meanings attributed to it and the different ways it is used blur it a good deal. The aim of this volume is to help clarify the term and its underlying concept. In recognition that the shift from "control" to "governance" is not just semantic, the contributing authors deal with social and political problem-solving structures in the context of transformation in the public sector. A special feature of the book is its multidisciplinary approach to the subject, which includes analytic insights from the fields of political science and law. The first part is devoted to the conceptual delimitation and contours of a theory of governance. The second part addresses the relation between law and governance in order to gain an understanding of governance as the coordination of what actors do in regulatory structures. The third and fourth parts inquire into new forms and modes of governance at the national and transnational levels. The book concludes with interim conclusions about the fruits of research on governance thus far and with a proposal for defining the concept.

Taking the example of Japan, what added value did the introduction of the new concept "religion" bring into the epistemic field in East Asia - did it change the system of knowledge and categories in legal thought and politics? It might be argued that "religion" does not hold a significant place in Japanese categories of knowledge, but that the new term has firmly established a footing in only few areas, mainly in the modern legal system, i.e. in questions of the freedom of religion and of the relationship of state and religion, and as a category to include the so-called "new religions", which have only appeared in the modern era. Taken a step further, it is our intention not only to find out how the conceptual field was structured before the modern period, but also to make room for the question of whether the modern term "religion" might not exacerbate our grasp of existing phenomena. In order to answer this question, which is ideally suited to highlight the specific nature of the Christian-European case, it is necessary to analyze both the current situation, the period of change during which the new term was introduced, and the conceptual world of the pre-modern period, through which the Western concepts entered into negotiation in the 19th century.

CO2 emissions from fossil fuels and industry did not grow in 2015 (at 36.3 Gt C per year), with world-average emissions per person at 4.9 t CO2 per year. Professor Corinne Le Quéré, Director of the Tyndall Centre at University of East Anglia, UK, who led the data analysis, said: “This third year of almost no growth in emissions is unprecedented at a time of strong economic growth, and it is possible that the trajectory of global emissions has permanently deviated from the long-term growth trend.”

At September 30, 2009, the companies of the Steel segment employed a total of 39,156 people, 2,155 fewer than a year earlier. Significant adjustments were required due to the dramatic fall in orders. Production shutdowns were initially compensated by running down working time accounts, taking residual leave and unworked shifts; in addition, the amount of paid overtime was significantly reduced. Starting in December 2008, the continued weak order situation also resulted in the introduction of short-time working throughout the Steel segment. At its peak this affected around 14,700 employees in Germany and abroad. At the end of the fiscal year, the improved order situation allowed the number of employees affected by short-time working to be reduced to 4,200.

In regard to the suitability for the planned hotel, possible subject areas with which the hotel itself could be positioned were evaluated in the second project phase. With the backdrop of the natural offerings on location and the tourist positioning of Saarland as well as the assessment of the competition, it appeared that the motives of sport and health were best suited as the base components of the hotel development. HOTOUR revealed two basic suitable concepts oriented toward health that pursued different approaches (a sports-medical approach or a preventive-medical approach) and that were partially constructed on the basis of the medical competences within the regional level. Other conversations were conducted with the persons responsible regarding the possible implementation of the concepts.

The remains of the castle of Serole with its dry stone walls, typical terraces and the splendid panorama that unveils itself as you climb, and reaches its apotheosis on the Bric Puschera itself (the peak of the Langhe), stand witness to the historical- scenic importance of this place. When you arrive close to Cascine Battaglini, the hamlet of “Camomilla” does not go unnoticed. It is a fortified center of stone houses with a fence wall that hides different buildings. You proceed on an asphalt road with very little traffic from here and get to enjoy the impressive panorama, crossing wooded gorges, small pastures and croplands, till you arrive at the village of Olmo Gentile, whose tower and the majestic stone castle stand out in the smallest town of the Langhe with less than 100 inhabitants. After you leave the village heading east, you proceed to a votive chapel on the county road, from which you can continue to walk on the dirt road on a background of meadows and pastures and shrub patches and avoid the asphalt road. The whole surroundings are characterized by beautiful and evocative views: the Langhe hills with old villages on their tops and the Alpine Chain in the background. The cart track leads to the county road few hundred meters from the “capital” of the Langhe of Asti: Roccaverano. The heart of the village is embodied in the beautiful square where Bramante’s Church of Annunziata stands, featuring the tower with a circular base and the wall that remains of the castle of the Marquis del Carretto. It has three elegant mullioned windows with two lights and embrasures from which arms could be deployed to defend the fortress, in case of need. The historic center is worth visiting for its internal streets, stone houses, portals adorned with sculpted stone friezes.
