Die Künstler Shaun Tan, Øyvind Torseter, Anouck Boisrobert und Louis Rigaud nutzen jedoch genau dies als Stilmittel. Im MAK sind ihre Werke nun im Original zu sehen, die in Büchern sonst nur nach ihrer fotografischen Transformation ins Zweidimensionale bestaunt werden können.

Usually we do not think of rooms and objects for illustrations. But this is exactly what the artists, Shaun Tan, Øyvind Torseter, Anouck Boisrobert and Louis Rigaud, use as stylistic devices. In the MAK, the originals of their works can be seen, originals which otherwise can only be admired in books after their photographic transformation into two dimensions. The Australian illustrator Shaun Tan produced scenes from the tales by the Brothers Grimm with figures and objects made of materials such as clay, paper, wax and even sugar beads. The works are enhanced by audio book versions. For the exhibition, Øyvind Torseter from Finland arranged rooms from his children’s books as three-dimensional illustrations. The underwater world, which has been transformed into book form as a pop-up graphic by the French artists Anouck Boisrobert and Louis Rigaud is presented as an object that fills the room.

Problems for GRID computing are those, that can be divided in many sub tasks. Examples are climate prediction problems, where a great number of parameters influence the prediction of a climate model. Every parameters influence can then be given to a CPU somewhere in a world, which would normally consume energy and not do anything but driving a screen saver. In a GRID computing environment, this computer would be used for the calculation of a partial result, which has to be sent back to the GRID supervising computer for the assembly of the final result.
