To begin with, there were two of them: Sophie Burande and Léonard Gogniat, a girl, a boy, an accordion, two accordions, two voices, then lots of instruments playing waltzes, a desire to play with words and notes and to give voice. Since then, Carrousel have become a foursome and given it everything they’ve got. Their repertoire has been expanded to include a popular style of French chanson, full of swing with pretty words set to lively airs, somewhere between sea shanties and traditional popular music. On the strength of a recently released first album and some sparkling live performances, they are now ready to tempt and seduce the audience at Paléo.
