The project, under the name "Innovation stimulation for Moldovan SMEs in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energies – CEI-ener2i-MD" is leaded by the Centre for Social Innovation in the role of know-how provider. The project includes two important Moldovan stakeholders as recipients: the Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer, and the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development. The project will last one year - until November 2015. CEI-ener2i-MD will be complementary to the ener2i project and the effect of both projects will be reciprocally leveraged.

Science is of particular importance when it comes to the four core tasks of a museum –collecting, maintaining, exploring and presenting – as it is the basis for other traditional tasks. It is the scientific approach to the arts and cultural history of the area that allows defining a collection strategy in the first place which ultimately reveals what is worth keeping, or collecting and what not. Restoration as well must be based on a multi-dimensional assessment of the object, the historicity and significance of which must be considered when taking preserving measures. Today it is furthermore essential to bear in mind that exhibiting is more than mere public display, but that such presenting of contexts can generate new experiences and new knowledge. A scientific approach is fundamental for those reasons as well. In this respect, the Mainz State Museum pursues a predominantly interdisciplinary approach. Here, universities and non-academic institutions are important partners. In 2015, for example, the State Museum will present the exhibition “Ritter! Tod! Teufel? Franz von Sickingen und die Reformation“ [Knight! Death! Devil? Franz von Sickingen and the Reformation] which is being created in cooperation with the faculty of Protestant Theology at the University of Mainz. When investigating early medieval skeletons, the Institute of Anthropology at the University of Mainz was recently consulted. Needle and syringe programmes (NSPs) started in the European Union in the mid-1980s as an immediate response to the threat of an HIV epidemic among drug injectors and expanded rapidly over the course of the 1990s (Figure 18). In 1993, publicly funded programmes already existed in more than half of the current 25 EU Member States and in Norway. Today, NSPs are available in Bulgaria, Romania and Norway as well as in all EU countries, except Cyprus, where sterile equipment is, however, freely obtainable at pharmacies and an official NSP is under consideration (138). Once such programmes have been introduced to a country, the geographical coverage of outlets for NSPs generally increases continually. Many countries have now achieved full geographical coverage, with pharmacies being a crucial partner in several Member States. However, in Sweden, the two programmes started in 1986 in the south of the country remain the only ones; and in Greece, the number of NSPs is limited and they are only available in Athens (139).
