Brendan Murray is an actor/director/tutor with over 20 years experience working in theatre/TV. He trained at the Gaiety School of Acting under Joe Dowling (1988-90)and also holds an M.A.(hons.) in Modern Drama Studies from UCD (2002). With Teatre du Soleil he studied the art of mask performance. In his professional career Brendan has performed with the Abbey, Fíbín, An Taibhdhearc, Town Hall Theatre, Project, Island, Players, Andrew’s Lane, Macnas, Flying Pigs and Opera Ireland. He toured Ireland and abroad with Ken Bourke’s one man show on the life of James Connolly, The Tide Can Wait, which was also adapted for radio. Throughout the 1990’s Brendan was a director of the multi-award winning Punchbag Theatre Co. in Galway. He has also directed for An Taidhbhearc and the Town Hall and has adapted/directed An Triail and Cearrbhach MacCaba for Fíbín.
