Jesus has promised incredible blessings to all who are "perfecting holiness in the fear of God" (2 Corinthians 7:1). There are many such benefits, but I will list only three:

"There is much talk about grace and heart-searching, but give me Christ! I seek not for promises, but Christ! I seek not for sanctification, but Christ! Don't talk of meditation or duty — tell me of Christ!"

"Of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:30-31). In other words: "I won't allow any human beings to glory in my presence. They will glorify me only through my son - who each day is becoming their wisdom, righteousness and holiness!"

Don't think for a moment you chose Christ first. You were a stranger, an alien — and God chose you. "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you" (John 15:16). "But I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you" (verse 19). "He hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world" (Ephesians 1:4). "God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth" (2 Thessalonians 2:13).

Nicky didn’t have any theology of sanctification.  But he was being sanctified—because he was loving his Father, and receiving his Father’s love.

(1 Tessalonisense 4:7). God het ons nie net tot redding geroep, of hemel toe, of om Sy vergifnis te ontvang nie. Inteendeel, hierdie dinge is voordele van ons een roeping - wees heilig, want Ek is heilig!
"God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness" (1 Thessalonians 4:7). God hasn't called us just to salvation, or to heaven, or to receive his pardon. Rather, these things are benefits of our one true call - which is to be holy as he is holy!
  Volmaakte Geregtigheid ...
Although Jesus offers us His perfect righteousness, many refuse it. They refuse His pardon, His peace, His justification from the law, His adoption into the family of God — embracing instead their own form of righteousness by works. Scripture says of them: "But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul"

Heuning! “Sonder heiligmaking sal niemand God sien nie...” Heuning! “Tensy julle jul bekeer, sal julle sterwe in jul sonde...”
The sweetest, most merciful thing God is doing today for His people is to once again send fearless prophets and watchmen to awaken the church, to instill the fear of God. How sweet the sound: "Flee the wrath of God...." Honey! "Without holiness no man shall see God...." Honey! "Except ye repent, ye shall die in your sins...." Honey! "The earth and also the works therein shall be burned up!" Honey! Can you say with Jeremiah, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart..." (Jeremiah 15:16)?
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we have them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled" (Hebrews 12:6-15).
