Our goal is to promote additional activities at a political level, and to adopt orientations in support of different measures both at the level of EU and in Member States, which shall – considering the existing discrepancies between the Member States – contribute to the promotion of healthy lifestyle and the prevention of cancer as well as to a more successful treatment and a quality living with this disease. Each year, about three million EU citizens develop some type of cancer. Many of these could be prevented by a more consistent inclusion of public health objectives into policies in different areas; in many cases a cure or a better treatment outcome could be achieved by preventive screening programmes drawn-up and implemented correctly, while investments in the research at the level of EU would result in a more competent professional approach to these patients and a quality living with this disease. Slovenia shall strive to address the issue of cancer at a higher political level within the Community framework.

Dans bien des cas la maladie pourrait être évitée grâce à  une intégration plus cohérente des objectifs de santé publique aux politiques dans des domaines divers tandis que dans d'autres cas il serait possible de permettre la guérison ou un meilleur résultat du traitement à travers des programmes préventifs de dépistage correctement élaborés et mis en œuvre. Par des investissements dans les recherches au niveau de l'UE, un meilleur traitement professionnel de ces patients et une qualité de vie supérieure avec cette maladie seraient permis.

Slovenian Presidency, in collaboration with other EU member states and the European Commission, will prepare drafts and coordinate the finalisation of the EU's position on the issues to be discussed at the ninth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. The conference is an important milestone for Europe and the world, as it will show what else the Parties are willing to do to slow down the loss of biodiversity on a global scale. Since the event will be held in Europe, it also presents an opportunity to promote the European approach to the preservation of nature (i.e. ecological networks such as Natura 2000; sustainable forest management; integrating biodiversity, such as forests with climate change and bio-fuels). Slovenia assigns great importance to the preservation and sustainable use of bio-diversity, and is therefore surely among the leading EU member states with regard to the aforementioned areas.

Initially, attention will be focused on the proposal for a decision of the European Parliament and the Council on the selection and authorisation of systems providing mobile satellite services (MSS). For the EU, this dossier is significant because of the new method of spectrum management. One of the goals of the proposed approach is that key elements for the single (EU) selection of systems and their subsequent coordinated authorisation by the Member States be defined for Europe-wide services. A legal vacuum or late adoption of the decision by the EU could seriously affect the development of the EU satellite industry, and in association with the ITU processes (reservations) it could mean a setback in comparison with the USA and Asian countries in the area of mobile satellite services. At the same time, this would also mean a loss for customers and users. On the other hand, the timely adoption of the decision and the associated selection and authorisation of the MSS by the EU could positively influence the development of competition and the enhancement of the EU internal market, also providing benefits for customers and users. Slovenia is aware of the negative aspects of late adoption of the decision and will therefore address the proposal as a priority issue. The adoption of a political agreement in the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council is anticipated.

La présidence joue un rôle primordial au sein des Nations unies, où aucun statut formel n'est attribué à l'UE.

The latter, when meeting with non-EU countries or regional groupings, works in close cooperation with the European Commission and is supported by the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Since the 1997 Treaty of Amsterdam, they constitute the Troika that represents the EU in dealings with non-member states. The Presidency may also be assisted by the Member State next in line to take over the Presidency, the so-called incoming Presidency. Meetings with third countries are also organised at the level of Summits, which is attended by the Heads of State or/and Government of all 27 EU Member states.

Cette dernière, lors de ses réunions avec les pays non membres de l'UE, travaille en collaboration étroite avec la Commission européenne et est soutenue par le haut représentant de l'Union européenne pour la politique étrangère et de sécurité commune. Depuis le Traité d'Amsterdam de1997, ces trois entités forment ensemble la troïka, qui représente l'UE auprès des pays non membres. Dans certains cas, la présidence en exercice est assistée par l'État membre qui assure la présidence suivante. Les réunions avec les pays tiers s'organisent également sous forme de Sommets, auxquels assistent les chefs d'État ou/et de gouvernement des 27 États membres de l'UE.

Negotovinsko plačevanje s kreditnimi ali debetnimi karticami je mogoče na vseh terminalih POS. Plačujete lahko s karticami MasterCard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron, Amex in Diners, denar pa lahko dvigate na bankomatih različnih bank po vsej Sloveniji s karticami MasterCard in Visa ali  Maestro, Cirrus in Visa Electron Plus, če so na bankomatih njihove nalepke.

Les règlements par carte de crédit ou de débit sont possibles depuis tous les TPV. Les cartes acceptées sont les suivantes : MasterCard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron, American Express et Diners. Vous pouvez également retirer de l‘argent en espèces depuis les distributeurs automatiques de billets des différentes banques du pays. Le retrait d'argent en espèces est principalement possible avec les cartes MasterCard et Visa. Les retraits peuvent également être effectués à l'aide de cartes Maestro, Cirrus et Visa Electron Plus, dans les distributeurs dont les logos indiquent que ces cartes sont acceptées.
