Der Großteil hiervon entfällt auf moderne Windparks, in der Planung sind weitere Windkraftanlagen mit rund 560 Megawatt an besonders windgünstigen Standorten, die innerhalb der nächsten vier Jahre realisiert werden sollen. Auch vor der deutschen Nord- und Ostseekünste ist E.ON an verschiedenen anspruchsvollen Offshore-Projekten beteiligt, darunter am ersten großen Offshore-Windpark Deutschlands „alpha ventus“ 45 Kilometer vor der Nordseeinsel Borkum. Dort sollen sich schon im Herbst nächsten Jahres die ersten Windräder drehen.

Eine Arbeitsgruppe soll darüber hinaus weitere Vorschläge erarbeiten, wie eine Einbürgerung für Nicht-Deutsche attraktiver gemacht werden könnte. Der Integrationsminister Nordrhein-Westfalens, Armin Laschet (CDU), veranschaulichte, es solle künftig eine verstärkte "Willkommenskultur" ausgestrahlt werden.
