The most characteristic symptom of the abdominal aortic aneurysm is dull or aching pain in the abdomen. The pain may be continuous or intermittent and be localized mainly in the navel region or in the left half of the abdomen. It is often described irradiation of pain in the lumbar region. The most affordable, safe and reliable method for the diagnosis of this pathology is the ultrasonic method. The final diagnosis is made by CT contrast angiography. In patients with diagnosed abdominal aorta aneurysm the surgical treatment with resection of aortal aneurism and its prosthetics with synthetic prosthesis are performed. Age is not a contraindication for surgical treatment.

Since 2010 in the Department of Endocrine Surgery of MC Erebouni 5 successful surgeries on the thyroid gland through transaxillar approach have been performed under the supervision of the Head of the Department Dr L.M. Mkhitaryan. It is important to note the fact, that such kind of surgeries was performed in Armenia for the first time in MC Erebouni. Implementation of a new surgery technique on thyroid gland through axillary approach helped to avoid postoperative cosmetic defects, reduce the level of postoperative complications, particularly subcutaneous bruising on the anterior wall of the thorax, and also provide early postoperative recovery of the patients and their return to normal daily activity.

In 21.11.16 the patient Kh. A. was performed a selective angiography of the neck arteries. At selective catheterization of the left external carotid artery it started bleeding from the defect location, which was simultaneously closed by intravascular stent-graft, and the branches of the left external carotid artery were embolized with spirals, because the walls of the branches were deformed and sclerotic (probably as effect of radiation therapy) . Bleeding was stopped. Postoperative period was uneventful and the patient was discharged on the second day.

The surgical intervention was successful. The condition of the patient was stable.

A 48 years-old patient Kh. A., in 21.11.16 admitted to MC Erebouni for performing selective angiography of the left carotid artery. In other clinic the patient was carried tongue resection for a cancer. After that he was receiving a radiation therapy in the area of neck. Suddenly after a few sessions there was a swelling on the left side of his neck, which led to a compression of the trachea. Puncture of this formation was performed. At CT angiography the patient was suspected possible perforation of the wall of the left external carotid artery, as a consequence of radiation therapy or tumor invasion in the vessel wall. In the last few days the patient was bleeding from the puncture site, about which he asked for endovascular solution to the problem.

However angioplasty and stenting methods, as it has been proven by the experience of their use, has two main restrictions on use: 1. Internal wall dissections of extremely narrowed and calcified vessel (dissections) after its expansion, which may be expanded, violate the normal blood flow, cause thrombus formation and lead to the complete occlusion of the vessel. 2. High rate of re-stenosis, up to 30-40% occurs after angioplasty (from 2 to 6 months). Besides, the calcification of stenotic vessels is a contraindication for using these techniques. The method of rotablation angioplasty has been effective for the treatment of calcified and therefore resistance for dilatation vessels.
