Employers all over Bulgaria have announced a total of 11 133 new jobs under the ESF co-funded scheme ‘Support for Employment’ – 2000 more than expected. Municipalities and district administrations are seeking workers for repair and restoration works, while private companies are looking for people to improve their services and trade performance – some 9000 of them will also receive training. By the end of August, more than 5000 job-seekers are expected to start work, in particular in municipalities suffering from high unemployment. Although the jobs are temporary, some 30% of the participants are expected to receive permanent contracts by the end of the programme.
