This image was taken from a large telescope in the middle of a vast desert in Chile, far from the slightest hint of a street light light. It captures the beauty and details of the Carina Nebula, the dark pillars of dust splitting up clouds of glowing gases and clusters of shining young stars.

To wspaniałe zdjęcie nieba przedstawia świecące gromady gwiazd oraz kłęby kolorowego gazu Mgławicy Kila (łac. Carina Nebula): ogromne zbiorowisko gazu, pyłu oraz gwiazd znajdujących się w samym sercu Drogi Mlecznej. Gdybyś mieszkał na południowej półkuli, byłbyś w stanie dostrzec ten olbrzymi obiekt nawet bez pomocy teleskopu. Jednak jak wiele innych cudów kosmosu, z powodu zanieczyszczenia nieba światłem, Mgławica Kila stała się niewidoczna z miast.
