Subitamente, a ordem natural do mundo é suspensa e os reinos do inferno e do paraíso emergem. Atingidas por sombras turvas, as paisagens misturam-se com corpos de animais selvagens e de humanos, ao capricho de metamorfoses labirínticas, rorschachianas, complexas e incessantes.

Birds of ill omen fly over the sky. Suddenly the natural order of the world is suspended and the kingdoms of hell and paradise emerge. Struck by muddy shadows, the landscape blends with the bodies of wild animals and humans, at the whim of the labyrinthine, complex, rorschachian and incessant metamorphoses. “La Chute” summons the memory of medieval visions of the “Garden of Earthly Delights” by Hieronymus Bosch and of Dante Alighieri's “Divine Comedy”, but a disturbing idea ends up haunting the film: the inevitable tragic planetary apocalypse as result of the unwary exploitation of natural resources by mankind. The technique used — Indian ink and watercolour on paper after reversed into negative — gives it a highly dramatic connotation, added with small notes of colour in order to guide the eye of the viewer, giving rhythm and cadence to the hypnotic succession of flamboyant paintings. During the production, Boris Labbé worked on the animation in parallel with the construction of music, by Daniele Ghisi, a collaboration that proved to be a fertile ground for improvisation and mutual-contamination, a visual and sound exploration.
