Pour la petite histoire, celle de PLATFORMA, l’année 2015 restera dans les annales; la signature du Partenariat stratégique avec la Commission européenne, le premier partenariat de ce type conclue par la DG DEVCO-EuropeAid, est une étape importante de la vie du réseau et de toutes les structures engagées derrière PLATFORMA, aujourd’hui 34, au premier rang desquels le Conseil des Communes et des Régions d’Europe.

2015: a symbolic and meaningful year, a troubled and difficult period in Europe and even more so in too many countries around the world. The decisions that our leaders will take in the coming months will determine the road ahead for the next 15 to 30 years and without a doubt, the present year will be one for the books. Certainly, for PLATFORMA, 2015 already represents an emblematic year: the signing of the Strategic Partnership with the European Commission – the first partnership of its kind, signed together with DG-DEVCO-EuropeAid – is an important step for the network and for all the organisations involved, a list which now amounts to 34 and where first and foremost is the Council of European Municipalities and Regions. In this interwoven world we are all part of a global movement of peoples and associations committed to the pursuit of democracy, human dignity, equality and justice. As members of this tight-knit circle, this movement may seem to us so ubiquitous, but is in reality much less so: the year 2015 will above all be about ensuring that this limited circle of engaged individuals expands to ensure that citizens, in their vast numbers, also seize the moment and take charge of the future of this planet.
