Class 1 equipment is equipment that can be placed on the market and be put into service without restrictions in the Community. For Class 2 equipment, there exist restrictions on the use and therefore the CE marking of these devices shall bear the alert sign. It is recommended to regularly check this classification.

De indeling in categorieën van apparatuur is te raadplegen in de rubriek “Equipment Classes” op deze pagina. Apparatuur van categorie 1 (Class 1) mag zonder beperkingen op de markt gebracht worden en gebruikt worden in de Gemeenschap. Voor apparatuur van categorie 2 (Class 2) gelden beperkingen op het gebruik en bijgevolg moet de CE-markering van deze toestellen het waarschuwingsteken (Alert sign) bevatten. Het is raadzaam deze indeling regelmatig te raadplegen.
