"The designing genius of Emilio Pucci is lovingly feted in a lush coffee table book. There are many reasons why one should pick up a copy of this book. Firstly, there are only 10,000 in the world, and if you're a kiasu Singaporean, you know that spells 'limited edition'. Secondly, each massive volume is wrapped in an original Pucci fabric which, superficial though it may sound, can only mean that it will look splendid on any coffee table and finally, as collaboration between TASCHEN and Pucci, the book is a visual feast. However, if you're a true fashion aficionado, this book is a real gem because it provides knowledge: it is a journey through the world of a brand and shows a side of it that goes beyond its calling card - prints. 'The book is not a typical retrospective set in chronological order,' asserts Ms Laudomia Pucci, the company's image director and daughter of the Marchese Emilio Pucci di Barsento himself. 'Rather, the idea was to provide a comprehensive study of the house of Emilio Pucci and how my father's legacy continues to remain relevant even nearly 20 years after his death.' ... But the tome also manages to show a side of the brand that few people see: that ultimately Pucci is a fashion brand with an aim to dress women and one that is still a bona fide Italian brand that truly understands tailoring.
