スウェーデン出身のDJ、プロデューサーであるNTOGNが作り出す音楽と「糸の導くほうへ」の作家たちの間にはさら強力な関係性があります。「audio-derivations」を制作し、いわゆる「マシーン・ミュージック」の領域で活動するなかで、NTOGNは軸を破壊し、脱中心的な構造を探求しています。糸の作品に似て、彼のビートは光と闇の両方を絡ませながら巨大な空間を巻きこみます。そこでは輪郭線も背景も固定されていません。リスナーが、自分は今底にいる、これが低音の限界だと確信するや否や、NTOGNは予期せぬ方向からより深い音を繰り出して聴く主体を驚嘆させ、彼らの想定する底を蹴散らしてみせるのです。いいかえれば、NTOGNを聴く場合、「9層の波」が行き過ぎようやく空気を吸えるのだろうか、それともまだ予想もつかないところから「9層の波」がやってくるのだろうか…という不安から逃れるのは不可能だということです。

彼にとって初のアメリカでの展示となる今回、後藤宙の作品がPULSEに登場し《Nexus》シリーズより3点を出展します。彼の作品はインスタレーションでも彫刻でもなく、ジャンルとスタイルを乗り越えてコンテンポラリーアートに欲望の「トーテムとタブー」という次元を持ち込み、無意識的な「崇拝」の引き金を引きます。こうして後藤は有史以前の過去とSF的未来を結びつけ、一方ではディープな未認識の欲望を、また一方では法と秩序というものを弄ぶかのようにして時代と時代をぶつけ合うのです。
