This whakapapa (genealogical chart) shows two of the wives and some
of the children
of Marutūahu’s second son, Tamaterā, ancestor of Ngāti Tamaterā. After Marutūahu’s death the ambitious Tamaterā took on his father’s mantle, which brought him into conflict with his younger brother Whanaunga.
