The UNHCR Sub Office Kerman was first established in Zahedan in late 1992 and relocated to Kerman in August 2008, due to lifting of insecurity incidents and the implementation of the National Security Council decision whereby the entire Sistan-Baluchestan province was declared a No-Go-Area for the foreign nationalities.

دفتر کمیساریای عالی پناهندگان سازمان ملل متحد کرمان ابتدا در اواخر سال ۱۹۹۲ در زاهدان تاسیس شد و در ماه اوت ۲۰۰۸ به علت افزایش میزان نا امنی، وتصمیم شورای امنیت ملی که به موجب آن کل استان سیستان و بلوچستان منطقه ی ممنوعه برای اتباع خارجی اعلام شد،این دفتر به کرمان نقل مکان کرد .
