Maloney demonstrates convincingly that the Canadian acquisition of nuclear weapons was a deliberate choice, and that Canada played an important role in NATO’s strategic deterrence system.

It's been ten years now since I left the NEB. I started in about 1991 if memory serves me correct, just after the NEB's move to Calgary. My wife and I moved out there, Jennifer Levette, my name is Neil Levette and both of us ended up working at the Board; Jennifer as a records manager and myself in the IT group. I have an awful lot of fond memories of the NEB; I learned a lot, matured a lot as a manager. But one of the fun ones that I remember is, I used to work with Steve Berthelet periodically and we were upstairs on the Executive floor setting up for a training course if memory serves me correctly. Steve would periodically launch into some sort of tirade or entertaining skit but on this particular day he decided to start imitating Mr. Priddle. Well, after five or ten minutes of this I couldn't work; I was in stitches and we wrapped up and we fell into the hallway of the Executive floor and who would be standing there, but Mr. Priddle. He had been listening to this entire thing, we knew he had him dead to rights and that he made us squirm for a good five minutes before he let us off the hook and let us go. That was pretty characteristic of Mr. Priddle and his sense of humour. We knew we were in trouble but we were in trouble in a fun way. I think that I just want to wrap up by wishing everybody at the NEB a happy 50th and good luck on the next fifty.

On our first transatlantic with this boat, UK to USA, I sailed UK to Horta with Graham Tourell (aka Gringo) for training and coaching. And on the route back US to UK, I went solo US to Horta where we picked up Dee Caffari for further training and coaching en route to Southampton. The harbormaster there, Armando, had been hugely helpful in ferrying Gringo off and Dee on as we went by. I thought it would be a nice gesture to sail through there and call and thank Armando again. Yet the winds did not permit us to get there, so we made the passage north around Faial and are now heading again east.
