Switzerland is the first country to include in its legislation the technical parameters defined at European level for USW (Ultra Short Wave) mini-transmitters by authorising marketing of these devices. The industry has thus been able to design and market equipment which complies with these specifications. USW mini-transmitters allow an audio signal to be received on any USW receiver located within a radius of several metres, without using cables. For example, the signal from an MP3 player or a hands-free telephone is played over the receiver’s speakers.
