The AERZEN canned motor blowers series CM (for aggressive gases) and HM (for neutral gases) suitable for permanent operation make particularly short pumping times possible and are used in industrial high vacuum technology for a vacuum range of 200 bis 10-5 mbar. These blowers work with a hermetic drive, as the drive shaft is sealed by an integrated canned motor without connecting passage to atmosphere. Due to the almost doubling of the speed to 6,000 up to 7,200 rpm with the same size, very short pumping cycles in the seconds range result, which leads to a considerable acceleration of the production processes for the operator. Even if, for increasing the performance further, two backing pumps and one canned motor blower are integrated into a pumping set, the entire unit still distinguishes itself by a particular compact design - a special advantage concerning multi-systems with numerous pumping sets. The GQ process gas blower series is used predominantly in the steel industry for handling coke oven gas and as a furnace gas blower. Compared to the GR, it has a larger intake volume flow. This ranges from 15,000 to 100,000 m3/h. As with the GR blower, the pressure range lies between -0.500 mbar and 5,000 mbar. As with all blowers, the maximum differential pressure lies at 1,500 mbar. Apart from the larger intake volume, the main difference is the horizontal direction of flow. Conveyed mediums include air, inert, toxic, combustible, corrosive gases or mixed gases. Typical fields of application are steelworks, where blowers are used for the compression of process, coolant and sealing gas in DRI processes (direct reduction of iron). They are most commonly used in multi-stage assembly arrangements and, like all AERZEN process gas compressors, are extremely resilient against contamination in the gas, like tar and naphthalene, as well as fluctuating operation or working conditions.

Screw compressors are designed as rotary compressors. These compress gas via the rotation of the meshing rotors that are arranged in a screw shape. Thus, the compression space is gradually reduced and the volume of gas compressed. The reliable production of compressed air is necessary both in industry and in power plants, as well as many other sectors. Conventional compressors produce a great deal more noise than screw compressors, due to their different operational principles. Moreover, the wear and tear in screw compressors is generally lower. The result is robust, reliable and maintenance-friendly machines for many applications. A distinction is also made between machines that are direct drive and those that are belt-driven. Questions of economy prompt many trade companies to switch to screw compressors. The efficiency during compression is especially high, which has a positive impact on energy consumption. Durch ihre absolut ölfreie Arbeitsweise und der Möglichkeit der Wassereinspritzung können die AERZEN Schraubenverdichter der Baureihe VR mit Gaseintritt oben und Gasaustritt unten für Gase mit schwankenden Molgewichten, Verunreinigungen, Polymerisationsneigung und Prozessen die kein Öl enthalten dürfen, eingesetzt werden.
Through oil-free operation and the option of water injection, Aerzen VR series screw compressors, with upper gas inlet and lower gas outlet, can be used for gases with varying molecular weights, impurities or a tendency to polymerize and for processes which must not contain oil. The operating limits of the equipment are determined by the pressure and temperature ranges and the permissible speed of the compressor. The compressors are mechanically loaded with pressure differences up to 12 bar (high pressure range up to 25 bar) at maximum discharge temperatures of 250°C (160°C with compressor stages in stainless steel). Single and multi-stage, process gas screw compressor are available with intercooling. The compressor units operate at flow rates from 600 m³/h to 120,000 m³/h with main rotor speeds of 2000 and 20000 1/min. Aerzen oil-free process gas screw compressors have an asymmetrical 4 + 6 - rotor profile (male rotor 4 teeth, female rotor 6 teeth). This profile combination results in a relatively strong rotor core diameter for the allowable pressure drops.International regulatory requirements such as API 619,613,614,671 etc., acid gas regulations (NACE) and customer specifications can be taken into account in the compressor unit. VR series oil-free screw compressors are used in chemical and petrochemical plant, i.e. refineries, in coking plants, soda factories and steel mills for conveying flare gas, coke oven gas, lime kiln gas, mixed gases and gases with hydrogen sulphide concentrations (sour gas). Water injection is carried out in gases for reducing to acceptable operating temperatures to avoid polymerization such as butadiene concentration, which is required for the preparation of styrene-butadiene rubber. The injection of solvents for purification is also possible on a temporary basis. The cleansing effect of injection water and sealing water leakage is regarded as a particular advantage of the VR series oil-free compressor type, wherever deposits of gas impurities, such as tar, naphthalene and traces of polymerised polymer deposit on the rotors and housing walls.
