El Mercado de la Ribera, ubicado junto a la Ría de Bilbao, es una referencia comercial para todo Bizkaia. En el año 1990 fue reconocido como el Mercado Municipal de Abastos más completo por el Guinness, siendo el más grande que existía. Actualmente está compuesto por tres plantas y por 186 comercios, que ofrecen productos de todo tipo: carne, fruta, pescado, marisco, quesos, embutido, congelados, setas...
