With “lignum protect”, a handrail system with integrated collision protection is available. A strip of extremely hardwearing HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is integrated in the wood and protects the handrail from damage caused by impact. A strip made of stainless steel and integrated in the wooden handrail is also available as collision protection. Both materials are characterised by high scratch and abrasion-resistance and extreme robustness. They withstand the highest stresses and are dimensionally stable. Impacts are absorbed by the collision protection and the handrail made of solid wood is therefore protected against damage. System “lignum protect” is optionally combinable with end curves made of polyamide or stainless steel, for even more impact resistance at the ends of the handrails. “lignum protect” offers high protection against damage and a homely feel at the same time.
