We noticed in our local community problems that jeopardized women of different ethnicities and who were mostly closed in their ethnic groups and on the margine of social events. Women didn’t meet other women and in social and political life.  Those are reasons that encouraged us on activism because we wanted to change situation and our activities we pointed on respect of diversity, reconciliation, culture of dialogue, gender equality, strengthening women to achiev their human rights, especially women’s. One of important goal was a sensitization of public on importance and role of women in society and importance of her social and economic strength.

  Izložba „Žene i različi...
The WOMEN AND DIVERSITY exhibition provides a space in which women artists from both sides of the border have been able come together to comment, communicate and share with us their own experiences of diversity. All exhibiting artists have completed a formal art education and are living and working in either Croatia or Bosnia & Herzegovina. Their environments and experiences are unique and varied.  As women artists they bring with them their own personal iconography as a communication tool to comment on diversity through a women’s lens.  The exhibition’s theme is itself open to wide interpretation which is reflected in the rich range of visual imagery. It is our hope that these images will encourage thought, provoke discourse and challenge our opinions. Mary Schmich, an American journalist, once said that good art is art that allows you to enter it from a variety of angles and to emerge with a variety of views. We hope very much that this will be your experience as you interact with the artwork presented in this exhibition.
