Tá na seacht n-ainm ag bun Fhorógra na Poblachta ar eols ag an saol, ach ní hé an oiread sin aithne atá againn ar an seachtar féin. Bhí beatha spéisiúil ag gach duine acu i bhfad sula raibh aon chaint ar éirí amach, agus thug siad ar fad tréithe ar leith isteach leo sa troid sin.

Úrscéal taitneamhach, léiriú ar bheatha dhaonna, go mórmhór trína phríomhcharachtar Mártan. Ní féidir an saol a bharraíocht, ciorcal nó fáinne atá ann, gan tús gan deireadh. Tá tréithe éagsúla sonracha sa scéal seo, idir ghrá, éad, fhuath, fhearg agus díoltas. Fágtar an...
Mártan Mac Cormaic's marriage is in ruins, his job security is precarious and his fathering skills leave a lot to be desired. His life is a soap opera. "Tá an t-aistriúchán nó an t-athleagan seo le Darach Ó Scolaí thar barr, le léaráidí a athchruthaíonn dearadh na seanleabhar ón 19ú haois agus a chuireann le sceoin agus sceitimíní na heachtraíochta, agus insint atá chomh saibhir seolta le bunleagan Stevenson, na téarmaí seoltóireachta fite fuaite go healaíonta ionas gur ar éigean atá gá leis an ngluais chuimsitheach atá mar aguisín leis an scéal.... Beirtear ar shamhlaíocht an léitheora ó thús go deireadh. Chuir Stevenson roimhe scéal tarraingteach eachtraíochta a scríobh do bhuachaillí. D'éirigh go hiontach leis, agus tá tréithe an bhunleabhair aistrithe go cumasach buacach go Gaeilge den scoth ag Darach Ó Scolaí." — Iarla Mac Aodha Bhuí, INIS Magazine
"This new version by Darach Ó Scolaí, with illustrations that recreate the design, the terror and the thrills of 19th century boys' adventure books, is as rich and fluent as Stevenson's original story, with the nautical expressions introduced and employed in a way that makes the attached glossory almost superfluous.... The reader is gripped by the tale from start to finish. Stevenson wrote an attractive adventure story for boys, and the great virtues of the original have been triumphantly brought to life in the Irish of artist and writer Darach Ó Scolaí." —Iarla Mac Aodha Bhuí, INIS Magazine
  The Home Ruler (MP3) | ...
Sa réamhrá don albam, tugann an fidléir clúiteach Séamus Connolly suntas don luas deas réidh atá faoin gceol seo, rud a chuireann i gcuimhne dó ré ina raibh níos mó grástúlachta agus níos lú deifre le sonrú sa cheol traidisiúnta. Molann sé brí, anamúlacht agus sainiúlacht an cheoil, tréithe a chuireann máistreacht an cheoltóra in iúl dúinn dar leis.
Catherine McEvoy is considered one of the best exponents of the Sligo - Roscommon style of flute playing and this, her third album, will do much to confirm her reputation as one of the most talented flute players in the country. In his introduction to the CD the renowned fiddler Séamus Connolly describes Catherine's playing as bringing us ‘back to a time when music was played more slowly, more gracefully and less frantically. Catherine's playing has a lift that is exciting, colourful and electrifying, coupled with unexpected variations, lovely tempo and phrasing. It is here that we truly have a master at work'. Catherine treats the listener to a wonderfully varied selection of music on The Home Ruler played on D, Eb and C flutes, including the beautiful slow air ‘Bánchnoic Éireann Ó'. She is accompanied by a talented panel of musicians including her nephew Paddy McEvoy, the legendary Felix Dolan, Geraldine Cotter, Steve Cooney and Joe Kennedy.
