Problema protecţiei copiilor împotriva exploatării şi abuzului sexual în spaţiul on-line este deosebit de actuală şi pentru Republica Moldova. Potrivit unui studiu naţional realizat de Centrul International „La Strada”, 13,3% dintre copii intervievaţi au fost expuşi vizionării imaginilor pornografice, alte 12% sunt hărţuiţi on-line şi nu cunosc cum să reacţioneze, iar 11% (printre care 29% copii cu vârsta de 12 ani) s-au confruntat cu propuneri indecente de la persoane pe care le-au cunoscut prin Internet.

On this occasion, some organisations which are members of ECPAT, including the International Centre „La Strada”, the National Centre for the Prevention of Child Abuse, PA CCF Moldova – Child Community Family and the Centre of Information and Documentation on the Rights of the Child launch a Call, by which is requested to Government authorities, civil society, mass media to address with priority this topic on the public agenda. Although protective politics for the child can be found in most of the public policies strategies and documents related to the area of social protection, the topic of prevention of the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, especially in the online environment, is addressed occasionally, fragmented and has a chaotic character.
