John Monash Science School (JMSS) is Victoria’s first specialist secondary school for science, mathematics, and associated technologies. Located on the Monash University campus in Melbourne, JMSS serves about 624 students and has access to leading research scientists. They founded the innovative Emerging Sciences Victoria (ESV) initiative—a virtual school within JMSS that uses webcast technology to bring advanced science learning to Year 10 students in remote classrooms. ESV has more than 150 students learning nanotechnology, astrophysics, bioinformatics, and other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
