The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), based on the Federal Council's Strategy, on experience gathered in the Western Balkans as well as on its "Western Balkans Concept 2007 to 2010", promotes regional integration and cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans. Regional cooperation is promoted by SDC's Western Balkans Division through the country programmes in the each Western Balkan country on the one hand and, on the other hand, through various regional thematic programmes in the areas of police reform, culture and research, as well as by supporting regional initiatives of the "Regional Cooperation Council (RCC)" (the successor of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe). The geographical focus lies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo but partners from Montenegro may participate.
