The First World War saw two countries, France and Germany fight each other for four and half years. This experience needs to be explained and commemorated so that the countries can plan a better future together.

For more than four years, France and Germany fought a fierce war on the battlefields of the First World War. The two peoples shared a bitter hate of each other, which was stoked by a mad desire to fight the other until victory was achieved. Today, they are reconciled and united in the construction of Europe.

Having shared an antagonism of each other, both French and Germans have a similar experience of war. They both sacrificed their youth. Their soldiers fought in extremely harsh conditions. A unprecedented amount of blood was spilled among French and Germans alike.
This common experience needs to be jointly remembered.

The Franco-German interface of the Centenary will show how the war is commemorated on varying scales.

It will provide the link between the current issues concerning Franco-German relations with those of the Centenary.
It will provide details on the projects and initiatives which are being taken forward and followed by the Centenary Partnership Program as part of a joint Franco-German work program in conjunction with  educational (European classes and  Abibac, OFAJ), diplomatic (embassies) and scientific (historical institutes) organisations.
It will offer various analyses comparing the French and German experiences of the First World War.
It will present a cultural Franco-German agenda for the Centenary.

For France and Germany, commemorating the First World War is about more than just reconciliation. It aims to build a future based notably on the younger generations by explaining and remembering the past.

Globenet is a non-profit organisation, focusing on freedom of speech and privacy, providing internet services.Globenet was created in February 1995, to further the goals of several groups and NGO interested in internet, the new media and how to use it. Globenet is commited to providing electronic communication not as a source of profits but as an end in itself.

Collaborating with organisations such as WISE International, APC (Association for Progressive Communication), Reporters without Borders, ANAIS network for Internet in Africa, Globenet explored the early potentialities of a "network of networks" for NGO and militant organisations.

Since 2001, with Placenet, French Data Network (non-profit internet access providers), Gandi (low price domain names registrar) and Netaktiv (web design company), Globenet created Gitoyen, a co-operated and non-profit telecom operator ; this allows us to share the costs and reinforce our technical independence.In 2002, Globenet set up a free internet and email access for the general public, called No-log, which protects privacy.

AFP - Rangers unveiled former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard as their new manager on Friday, handing the rookie boss the daunting task of ending Celtic's domination of the Scottish Premiership.

Gerrard, who has previously only worked with Liverpool's Under-18s, takes the helm of the giant club who have fallen on hard times in the past decade despite winning a record 54 Scottish titles.

Celtic -- under Brendan Rodgers, Gerrard's former boss at Anfield -- are bidding for an unprecedented successive treble and are unbeaten against their Old Firm rivals in 11 games but Gerrard said he could not wait to get his teeth into the new role.

"I'm very aware of Rangers, the size of the club, I've watched them from afar and been lucky enough to watch some of the Old Firm games," he told a press conference at the club's Ibrox stadium.

"It was a no-brainer for me. There were a lot of different things to think about but from that first phone call I got a special feeling and I knew that Rangers were for me."

Gerrard, who named former Liverpool team-mate Gary McAllister as his assistant, said he could not help his lack of experience, adding that he had missed the pressure of fighting for three points since he stopped playing.

"I know there will be a lot of pressure and a lot of scrutiny but that's what I love about football," added the 37-year-old, who hung up his boots in 2016 after a 12-month stint with LA Galaxy.

He found the testimony, not the witnesses, to be credible. In my opinion the tendered evidence if adduced before the trial Judge or other tribunal of fact could not possibly affect the verdict. This view is in accord with the decision of this Court in R. v. Stewart (1972), 8 C.C.C. (2d) 137.

Twenty years after independence, Moldova is still grappling with the effects of intensive agriculture production under the former Soviet Union. In the 1970s, large quantities of fertilizers, pesticides and dangerous chemicals were used on Moldovan soil to maximise crop yields. Although their use is now prohibited, large quantities of these pesticides are still stored around the country, including over 3000 tonnes in 450 poorly equipped facilities. A NATO-sponsored project is helping to address this lingering problem.

BAAR, Schweiz, 19. März 2013 - Veeam Software erweitert sein Partnerprogramm für Cloud-Service-Provider um ein zusätzliches Lizenzmodell. Das Veeam Cloud Provider (VCP) Programm beinhaltet künftig die Option, Veeam-Lösungen auf Basis einer Mindestlizenzmenge in einem Jahr auf Monatsbasis zu lizenzieren. Mit Hilfe dieses Lizenzierungsmodells können Hosting-Anbieter, Telekommunikationsunternehmen und Cloud Service Provider künftig einen zu ihrem Service-Modell passenden Lizenzvertrag mit Veeam schließen.


Veeam verhilft mehr als 1.200 VCP-Partnern in der EMEA-Region zu Erfolgen beim Verkauf von Lizenzen auf Mietbasis, wobei die Abrechnung pro VM erfolgt. Die EMEA-Region ist mittlerweile vollständig von einem Netzwerk aus Distributoren und Aggregatoren abgedeckt, die Veeam Mietlizenzverträge anbieten. Dies belegt das große Interesse der Partner sowie Veeams Investition in die Förderung dieses schnell wachsenden Marktes.


Die neuen Vorteile des VCP-Programms in der 2013er Auflage:

  • Mietlizenz mit Mindestvolumen: Zugeschnitten auf mittlere und große Hosting-Anbieter basiert dieses neue Lizenzmodell auf einem monatlichen Mindest-Volumenaufkommen für eine oder mehrere Veeam-Lösungen über einen Zeitraum von einem Jahr.
  • Zusätzliche Rabatte: Abhängig vom vereinbarten Engagement können VCP-Partner von zusätzlichen Rabatten und der Unterstützung lokaler Marketing- und Sales-Initiativen profitieren.

„Dieses neue, auf dem Engagement unserer Partner basierende Mietmodell erweitert die Lizenzen auf Grundlage permanenter Lizenzen und der monatlichen Abrechnung pro virtueller Maschine. Dieses neue Angebot gibt Hosting- und Cloud Service-Anbietern mehr Flexibilität bei der Gestaltung ihrer Dienstleistungen und ermöglicht ihnen, die Fixkosten noch weiter zu reduzieren“, sagt Gilles Pommier, Channel Director für die EMEA-Region bei Veeam.


Im vergangenen Monat kündigte Veeam die Erweiterung des VMware vCloud Director an. Milano, 11 marzo 2013 - Veeam Software - innovativo fornitore di soluzioni di backup, replica e gestione degli ambienti virtualizzati VMware vSphere e Windows Server Hyper-V – presenta una nuova campagna volta a supportare le aziende nel passaggio alla Modern Data ProtectionTM.


Secondo Gartner, entro il 2016 un terzo delle aziende cambierà il proprio vendor di backup a causa di problemi a livello di costi, complessità o capacità1. Allo stesso tempo, i report evidenziano che la virtualizzazione del server ha ormai coinvolto oltre il 60% delle aziende e sta per raggiungerne l’80%2. Veeam Modern Data Protection – una soluzione specifica per la virtualizzazione (Built for VirtualizationTM) potente, economica e facile da utilizzare – si colloca fra questi due trend del settore.


La maggior parte degli strumenti di backup è stata sviluppata per un ambiente fisico e questo influenza e limita il supporto che tali strumenti possono fornire agli ambienti virtuali. Ad esempio, quando vengono aggiornati questi tool non sfruttano l’ambiente virtuale per verificare i backup, richiedendo inoltre agenti sulle macchine virtuali (VM) per il ripristino granulare, per backup application-consistent e per portare a termine altre funzioni essenziali.


I risultati del “Virtualization Data Protection Report” di Veeam dimostrano che i backup fisici hanno posto le divisioni IT di fronte a sfide importanti, in un ambiente sempre più virtualizzato:

  • Capacità: l’88% dei CIO ha riscontrato problemi relativi alla capacità che si riflettono sul backup e sul ripristino delle infrastrutture virtuali;
  • Complessità: l’84% dei CIO afferma di dover affrontare sfide relative alla complessità per quanto riguarda il backup e il ripristino di ambienti virtuali;
  • Costi: l’87% dei CIO sta riscontrando problemi relativi ai costi del backup e del ripristino dei server virtuali e deve inoltre sostenere i costi implicati da lunghi tempi di downtime.
