After he obtained a B.Sc. in Chemistry (1972) and a control in Biochemistry (1974) at the University of Montreal, as well as a Ph. D. in Biochemistry (1978) at the McGill University, Dr. Rassart carried out research in Molecular Biology at the Institute of Clinical Research of Montreal and at the Department of Medicine of University of Montreal. He has been professor at the Department of Biological Sciences of the UQAM from 1986 to 2014 and became professor emeritus in September 2014. His current fields of interest relate to the molecular biology of the retroviruses, cancer, oncogenes, regulation of the genetic expression and human, rabbit and mouse apolipoproteins.
