Gyda golygfeydd trawiadol dros aber yr afon Ddyfrdwy, mae'r castell unig hwn yn aml yn cael ei anghofio gan bobl sy'n mynd am y cestyll mwy Gorllewinol. Bu'n gampwaith amddiffynnol ar un adeg, a nodwedd fwyaf trawiadol y Castell yw un tŵr crwn sydd ar wahân i weddill y cwrt mewnol.
With impressive views over the Dee Estuary, this solitary castle is often overlooked by its more Western counterparts. Once a defensive masterpiece, the Castle’s most impressive feature is a solitary round tower, isolated from the rest of the inner ward.

Cadw has just begun a major project at Denbigh to maximise visitor potential to the castle and improve visitor access to the historic town walls. Archaeological excavation is underway in advance of a new purpose-built visitor centre. The town wall-walks will be made more easily accessible, and the presentation and interpretation of the castle and walls improved making links with the wider historic landscape.

  Caer Baddonau a Amffith...
Mae'r safle yn un hygyrch ond mae angen i’r ymwelwyr fod yn ymwybodol y gall fod yn anodd croesi tir anwastad ar wyneb glasswellt yn yr Amffitheatr a'r Barics ac yn anodd mynd ar draws y llawr pren drwy’r Baddondai i gyd.
The site is accessible however visitors will need to be aware that difficulties may be encountered travelling across the uneven ground and grassy surfaces in the Amphitheatre and barracks and across the wooden flooring throughout the Baths.
  Materion Iechyd a Dioge...
Bydd y rhain yn rhoi gwybodaeth bwysig i chi am ddiogelwch ac yn nodi pa offer diogelwch personol y dylech eu defnyddio. Peidiwch byth â defnyddio hen ddeunyddiau sydd wedi mynd y tu hwnt i'w dyddiad terfyn.
Always read the instructions issued with materials for building maintenance. They will give you important safety information and indicate which PPE you should use. Never use old out of date materials.
  Nodau a darpariaethau
Bydd hysbysiadau atal dros dro yn rhoi'r pŵer i Weinidogion Cymru atal gwaith anawdurdodedig, neu unrhyw ddifrod i henebion cofrestredig, ar unwaith. Byddant yn gallu defnyddio hysbysiadau gorfodi ategol er mwyn gorchymyn gwaith trwsio i henebion neu gyflawni amodau caniatâd henebion cofrestredig heb orfod mynd i'r llys.
Temporary stop notices will give the Welsh Ministers powers to put an immediate halt to unauthorised works or other damage to scheduled monuments. They will be able to use complementary enforcement notices to order repairs to monuments or the fulfilment of scheduled monument consent conditions without going to court. These provisions came into force on 21 May 2016.
  Siambr Gladdu Tinkinswood
Y chwedl fwyaf adnabyddus o'r rhain yw y bydd unrhyw un sy'n treulio noson ar y safle hwn ar Galan Mai, Dydd Sant Ioan (23ain Mehefin), neu Ddiwrnod Canol Gaeaf yn marw, yn mynd yn wallgof neu'n dod yn fardd.
The tomb has collected a number of folk tales over the years. The best known of these legends is that anyone who spends a night at this site on the evenings preceding May Day, St John's Day (23rd June), or Midwinter Day would die, go raving mad, or become a poet. The group of boulders to the south of the monument is said to be women turned to stone for dancing on the Sabbath: a common theme in the folklore.
  Gwaith Haearn Blaenafon
Mae mynediad i’r safle am ddim i bawb ac ynghyd â’r bythynnod sydd wedi’u hailddodrefnu a siop drwco'r cwmni a ail-grëwyd, mae technoleg pyst sain newydd sbon yn helpu i ddod â stori Gwaith Haearn Blaenafon yn fyw fel erioed o’r blaen. Dros ddau gan mlynedd yn ôl, roedd technoleg newydd o fath gwahanol yn cynhyrchu stêm ym Mlaenafon ac yn sicrhau bod ffyniant diwydiannol Cymru yn mynd o nerth i nerth.
The site is free to all and along with the refurbished cottages and recreated company truck shop; new cutting-edge audio post technology helps bring the story of Blaenavon Ironworks to life like never before. Over two hundred years ago, a different form of cutting-edge technology enabled the power of steam to be harnessed, making Blaenavon possible and taking Wales’s industrial might to a new height.
  Castell Penfro
Mae bwa hedfan mur fylchog  tu mewn i'r porthdy yn dipyn o pos, er y byddai'n ymddangos i fod o ychydig o ddefnydd wrth gwastrodi goresgynwyr a oedd wedi mewn gwirionedd  mynd i mewn i'r castell dan orfod.
A battlemented flying arch inside the gatehouse is something of a puzzle, for it would appear to be of little use in repelling invaders who had actually forced entry into the castle. Still, the gatehouse is, overall, a mighty defence which proves the skill and the sophistication of military architects in medieval times.
  Seintiau Celtaidd, Llef...
Mae'n nodi bod "diddordeb mewn seintiau, safleoedd sanctaidd a phererindod yn mynd y tu hwnt i faterion sy'n ymwneud â chred. Nid oes angen bod wedi proffesu unrhyw ffydd i fwynhau hanesion y seintiau".
The plan outlines the history, archaeology and legends associated with the storyline. It states that “interest in the saints, sacred sites and pilgrimage transcends matters of belief. Enjoyment of the tales of saints does not require any profession of faith”.
  Castell Bronllys — Gwai...
Rhoddodd Cadw flaenoriaeth i'r gwaith atgyweirio er mwyn atal rhagor o'r manylion hanesyddol rhag cael eu colli ac er mwyn mynd i'r afael ag unrhyw bryderon ynglŷn â diogelwch yn ymwneud â'r posibilrwydd o ddarnau o waith maen yn cwympo.
The round tower entrance inner masonry arch had also progressively become unstable. Cadw deemed the repair works a priority to prevent further loss of historical detail and to address any safety concerns relating to the possibility of falling masonry fragments.

  Castell Talacharn
Dylid gofalu wrth deithio o'r maes parcio gan fod y brif ffordd a'r palmant yn mynd yn gul ychydig yn is na mynedfa'r castell. Mae ychydig o lethr o'r maes parcio ac wrth fynedfa’r heneb. O'r Ganolfan Ymwelwyr, mae ramp bach yn arwain at lwybr gwastad a mynediad hawdd o amgylch y safle.
Care should be taken when travelling from the car park due to the narrowing of the main road and pavement just below the entrance to the castle. There is a slight incline from the car park and at the entrance of the monument. From the Visitor Centre, a small ramp leads to a level path and easy access around the site. The tower is limited to walkers only and there are a mixture of grass and gravel surfaces on the site.
  Comics Pete Fowler
Mae Branwen yn ailadrodd un o hen chwedlau'r Mabinogi. Pan mae Branwen yn cael ei chosbi am weithredoedd un o'i brodyr, mae ei brawd Brân - brenin a chawr - yn mynd i ryfel i ddial ei cham. Mae gan y chwedl draddodiadol hon gysylltiad â Chastell Harlech, ac mae copïau ar gael yn y safle trawiadol hwn gan Cadw.
Branwen is a retelling of an ancient Mabinogi myth. When Branwen is punished for the actions of one of her siblings, her brother Brân —  a giant king — goes to war to avenge her. This traditional tale is linked to Harlech Castle, and copies are available from this spectacular Cadw site.
  Gwaith cloddio Bryngaer...
Fodd bynnag, roedd yn amlwg bod y clawdd gogleddol wedi'i wneud o galchfaen. Yn yr un modd, roedd prif glawdd mewnol y clostir wedi'i adeiladu o gerrig hefyd ond nid oedd iddo wyneb cerrig clir, sy'n mynd yn groes i ganlyniadau gwaith cloddio Nash-Williams.
The trench in the main entrance contained mixed-up deposits from when Nash-Williams filled in his excavations. As a result, it was difficult to interpret the archaeology. It was clear, however, that the northern bank was made of limestone. Similarly, the main inner bank of the enclosure was also stone built but without any clear stone facing, contradicting the results of Nash-Williams’s excavation.

Ar ôl i'r gorchudd gael ei godi, ceisiwch wneud y gwaith i gyd o'r wyneb. Peidiwch byth â mynd i mewn i siambr ddofn heb hyfforddiant arbenigol. Gwisgwch fenig, esgidiau cryfion addas ac ati bob amser, hyd yn oed ar gyfer siambrau dŵr storm.
If it is necessary to lift a cover to an inspection chamber ensure that you have the right equipment, some covers are very heavy and require specialist equipment to lift. Once the cover has been removed try and carry out all work from the surface. Never enter a deep chamber without specialist training. Always wear suitable PPE gloves, boots, etc, even for storm water chambers.
  Ynys y Barri
Y cyd-destun uniongyrchol yw’r gwaith adfywio parhaus y mae Cyngor Bro Morgannwg a’I bartneriaid yn ei wneud yn y Barri. Mae hyn wedi arwain at welliannau i’r promenade dwyreiniol hanesyddol ac, ar adeg ysgrifennu, mae gwaith sylweddol yn mynd rhagddo i ailddatblygu’r ceiau yn Noc Rhif 1.
The immediate context of this study is the ongoing regeneration work that the Vale of Glamorgan Council and its partners are carrying out in Barry. This has generated enhancements to the historic eastern promenade and, at the time of writing, major redevelopment of the quays at Dock No. 1 is underway. However, it has broader intentions. Recognition of the significance of the landscape and townscape features that contribute to a distinctive sense of place and an associated feeling of community may influence the way Barry Island is looked after, enhanced and developed, now and in the future, in a sustainable manner. The report could inform dialogue about what is significant in the historic environment of the island, as further initiatives and opportunities arise — whether at the seaside or in residential areas.

  Menter Treftadaeth Ddiw...
Fel llawer o henebion canoloesol allweddol eraill yng Nghymru, nid yw'r degau o filoedd o ymwelwyr sy'n mynd heibio i Gastell Deganwy ar eu ffordd i dref glan môr hardd Llandudno yn gwybod fawr ddim amdano.
Like many other key medieval monuments in Wales, Deganwy Castle is barely known to the tens of thousands of visitors who pass by on their way to the picturesque seaside resort of Llandudno. And yet these sites are hidden gems locked away in the Welsh countryside, with extraordinary stories to tell about the life and times of Wales’s native princes. Deganwy is just one of eleven such sites that have benefitted over the last two years from Cadw’s Welsh Cultural Heritage Initiative (WCHI). The aim of this initiative has been to unlock the secrets of these iconic sites and to ensure that they are conserved for future generations to enjoy. However, the key to the success of the programme has been to negotiate full public access to the monuments, many of which are in private ownership.
  Cadwraeth ar Safleoedd ...
Mae angen gwneud gwaith cynnal a chadw ar rai adeiladau. Mae rhai eraill wedi mynd â'u pen iddynt gan nad oedd angen amdanynt bellach, a chipiwyd y pren a'r cerrig defnyddiol i'w hail-ddefnyddio. O ran cestyll, difrodwyd llawer ohonynt yn fwriadol ar ôl y Rhyfel Cartref fel na ellid eu defnyddio i herio'r llywodraeth newydd.
Cadwraeth Cymru is responsible for carrying out first-time and specialist conservation works to the 127 monuments in Cadw’s care. The task is perpetual, but nonetheless extremely rewarding; evidenced through the social and economic benefits such monuments play in local communities. Some buildings are in need of maintenance. Others have fallen into disrepair because they were no longer needed, and the useful timber and stone was taken away and re-used. In the case of castles, many were deliberately damaged after the Civil War so they could not be used to challenge the new government.
  Cipio’r Castell
Ar ôl mynd i mewn i'r castell bydd y sioe yn parhau â cherddoriaeth gerddorfaol a chorawl a cherddoriaeth rap a gomisiynwyd yn arbennig, theatr fyw a chyfres o osodiadau celf arloesol o fewn muriau'r castell.
For those expecting the traditional - think again. From rap to film all that you see will be inspired by the culture and heritage of the castle and the local area. A giant key will be carried to the castle gate to mark the formal opening accompanied by a massed fanfare from the castle ramparts. Once inside, the show carries on with specially commissioned rap, orchestral and choral music, live theatre and a series of innovative art installations within the castle walls.
