Ond ni fydd dementia yn ennill. Hyd at y diwrnod y byddwn ni'n dod o hyd i feddygfa, bydd Cymdeithas Alzheimer yma i unrhyw un y mae demensia yn effeithio arnynt - ble bynnag y maen nhw, beth bynnag maen nhw'n mynd drwodd.
There are currently around 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, with figures set to rise to over a million by 2021. Here in Wales there are over 45,000 people currently living with dementia. But dementia won’t win. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer’s Society will be here for anyone affected by dementia – wherever they are, whatever they’re going through. Everything we do is informed and inspired by them.

Support Our Side by Side service forms a key part of our 2017-22 strategy and we want to ensure that people with a diagnosis of dementia have an opportunity to take part in this innovative service.  The main aim of the service is to tackle social isolation and loneliness. Volunteers and employees working in the service provide companionship and within this empower, encourage and help build people with dementia's confidence. It also supports people with dementia to retain or re-engage in hobbies and interests or have the opportunity to take up new leisure pursuits, to build informal community links and active citizenship as well as promoting the opportunity for communities to become dementia-friendly.

Research We are the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention. We’ve committed to spending £150 million on cutting-edge research over the next decade. Every project we fund directly addresses the needs and concerns of people affected by dementia. We are one of the founding partners in the UK Dementia Research Institute (DRI) alongside the Medical Research Council and Alzheimer's Research UK. We're investing £50 million to support research at the Institute, our single biggest investment in research in our history. The UK Dementia Research Institute will be pivotal in establishing the UK as the leading nation for dementia research. It will drive a sea change in our understanding both of the causes and consequences of dementia and, crucially for those living with dementia, how to improve care practices
