Rhoddodd Adroddiad Cyflwr y Sector, a gafodd ei lansio yr wythnos diwethaf gan Community Energy England ac Ynni Cymunedol Cymru, grynodeb diddorol o sefyllfa'r sector a nododd gapasiti ynni anhygoel o 121 MW sy'n eiddo i 222 o grwpiau cymunedol. At hynny, mae prosiectau wrthi'n cael eu datblygu o hyd ac mae gwaith yn mynd rhagddo ym maes effeithlonrwydd ynni, sef maes sy'n cael ei anghofio'n aml.
The State of the Sector Report, launched last week by Community Energy England and Community Energy Wales provided an interesting summary of where the sector is and identified an incredible 121 MW of energy capacity owned by 222 community groups. Not only that but there are still projects in development and work is underway in the often forgotten area of energy efficiency.

Daeth Ynni'r Fro oedd i ben ym mis Mawrth 2015 ond, diolch i Lywodraeth Cymru, ni ddaeth y cyllid na'r cyngor i ben er mwyn sicrhau bod prosiectau ynni yn mynd yn eu blaen. Mae'r ddwy flynedd diwethaf wedi bod yn eithriadol o brysur.
Ynni’r Fro did indeed finish in March 2015 but, thanks to Welsh Government, there was no stop in the funding and advice in place to keep community energy projects progressing. The last two years has been incredibly busy; in fact it has proved to be a very successful period with 13 projects totalling 7.6MW of capacity being constructed and some £4.8 million of grants and loans being made. The hard miles on these projects were done in the preceding years – over 18 years in the case of the Awel Coop – which goes to show the value in a long term programme of support for community energy projects.
