Den Großteil der Beleuchtungsanlage des EXPO-Geländes lieferte Selux: Hunderte von Mastleuchten der Serien Astro und Olivio sorgen während der Abend- und Nachtstunden nicht nur für Helligkeit und Sicherheit für die Besucher, sondern erzeugen auch eine beeindruckende Gesamterscheinung der Anlage bei Dunkelheit. Ein besonderer Blickfang sind die rund 15 Meter hohen Masten aus der Olivio Sistema Designlinie mit jeweils 15 Olivio Grande Lichtköpfen. Sie sind an markanten Orten wie dem Haupteingang, dem Nebeneingang, dem Expo-Turm und dem Expo-Platz aufgestellt: In einer eleganten Spiralform winden sich die Olivio Lichtköpfe an den Masten empor, eine technisch moderne und zugleich organische Anmutung ist das Resultat. Jeder der Lichtköpfe kann mit seiner rotationssymmetrischen 40°-LED-Optik individuell ausgerichtet und per DALI gesteuert werden. So können von wenigen Masten aus flexibel sowohl die Freiflächen gleichmäßig beleuchtet als auch Objekte angestrahlt werden.

I pali sono assegnati alle scale con distanza tra gli apparecchi tra i 18 a 40 metri e un'altezza di montaggio di 6,5 o 8,5 metri, inclinati di circa 15°.

Poles are mounted at intervals of between 18 and 40m at heights of 6.5 m or 8.5m, with each pole assigned to a staircase, to which it is tilted at an incline of around 15°. All poles for a single staircase system have a uniform height and each pole bears six pivoting LED luminaire heads, three with batwing light distribution and three with flood optics, enabling various areas, shapes and distances to be illuminated differently. Each LED luminaire head is equipped with its own, DALI-capable driver, enabling a wide variety of light scenes to be programmed via the relevant controller.

Die Masten sind mit Lichtpunktabständen von 18 bis 40m und einer Lichtpunkthöhe von 6,5 bzw. 8,5m jeweils den Treppenanlagen zugeordnet und stehen rund 15° zu ihnen geneigt. Die Masten an einer Treppenanlage haben jeweils einheitliche Höhen. Jeder Mast trägt sechs schwenkbare LED-Leuchtenköpfe, davon drei mit einer Batwing-Lichtverteilung und drei mit einer Flood-Optik: So lassen sich verschiedene Flächen, Formen und Distanzen differenziert ausleuchten. Jeder LED-Leuchtenkopf verfügt über einen eigenen, DALI-fähigen Treiber – es besteht somit die Option, zukünftig mit einer entsprechenden Steuerung unterschiedlichste Lichtszenarien zu programmieren.

The majority of the lighting on the EXPO grounds has been supplied by Selux. As well as ensuring brightness and safety for visitors during the evening and at night-time, the hundreds of pole-top luminaires from the Astro and Olivio series also lend the grounds an impressive overall appearance during darkness. The 15-metre high poles from the Olivio Sistema design line, each of which is fitted with 15 Olivio Grande light heads, are a particular eye catcher. These have been erected at prominent locations such as the main entrance, side entrance, Expo tower and Expo Square. The Olivio luminaire heads coil in an elegant spiral up the poles ensuring a state-of-the-art but at the same time organic look. Each of the luminaire heads can be aligned individually with their rotationally symmetrical 40° LED optics and controlled via DALI. This has enabled the light planner Niyazi Avci to make flexible use of just a few pole-top luminaires for uniform lighting of both open spaces and exhibition objects.

The design language for the light poles is based on maritime associations such as ships‘ masts, cranes or the stalks of reeds.

Zum oberen Ende verjüngen sich die Masten organisch, ihre Oberfläche korrespondiert farblich mit dem dunklen Bodenbelag. Die weitere Detaillierung der Formensprache der Lichtmasten orientierte sich an maritimen Assoziationen wie Schiffsmaste, Kräne oder Schilfhalme.
