Not only were the matches packed with excitement, specially created fan songs, entire dance routines, supportive cheers, applauding classmates, totally concentrated coaches, anxious teachers, parents, friends – everything contributed to a special ambiance. And the on-pitch action fueled the mood even more; for example, in the semi-final between the fourth-graders from Baar Sternmatt in Zug und Zurich Triemli. After the Zug team went into a one-nil lead, the Zurich youngsters replied with three goals in a row. Baar then answered with another goal to make it 2-3 and even equalized just before the final whistle. The resulting penalty shoot-out was pure drama, with outfield players successfully transformed into goalkeepers, stunning saves, shots hitting the goal posts, and in the end a team of heroes, and the ones whose luck ran out. It was a real roller-coaster culminating in overwhelming joy on the one hand, and heartbreak and tears of disappointment on the other. The Baar players came out on top, with the Zurich team losing out. The winners could look forward to the final with the adrenaline of success still pumping, while the others had to cope with the disappointment and head for home.

Il est des matches qui galvanisent. Des chants de supporters spécialement composés pour l’occasion, des chorégraphies élaborées, des acclamations enthousiastes, des camarades qui applaudissent, des coachs très concentrés, des professeurs, parents et proches nerveux: l’ambiance était fiévreuse. L’action sur le terrain n’était pas en reste, comme lors de la demi-finale des classes de 4e entre Baar Sternmatt et Zürich Triemli: alors que les Zougois menaient 1-0, les Zurichois ont réagi en mettant trois buts d’affilée. Un nouveau but plus tard, le score était de 2-3, avant égalisation sur le coup de sifflet final et les tirs au but. Du grand spectacle avec des joueurs s’improvisant gardiens avec succès, des arrêts spectaculaires, des tirs sur poteaux, des héros et des malchanceux. Après plusieurs minutes d’ascenseur émotionnel, une gigantesque joie a éclaté d’un côté, tandis que de l’autre régnaient tristesse et larmes de déception. L’équipe de Baar est sortie victorieuse, celle de Zurich a dû s’avouer vaincue. Les uns ont pu aborder la finale, portés par l’adrénaline de la victoire, tandis que les autres ont dû rentrer chez eux et digérer leur déception.

Eigens kreierte Fan-Songs, ganze Choreografien, animierende Zurufe, Applaus von Mitschülerinnen und Mitschülern, hochkonzentrierte Coaches, nervöse Lehrpersonen, Eltern, Bekannte – das alles sorgte für einen besonderen Rahmen. Und das Geschehen auf den Spielfeldern heizte die Stimmung zusätzlich an. Zum Beispiel in der Halbfinalpartie der Viertklässler zwischen Baar Sternmatt und Zürich Triemli. Auf das 1:0 für die Zuger reagierten die Zürcher mit drei Treffern in Folge. Das 2:3 und – praktisch mit dem Schlusspfiff – der Ausgleich folgten. Penaltyschiessen. Dramatik pur mit erfolgreich zu Torhütern umfunktionierten Feldspielern, Glanzparaden, Pfostenschüssen, Helden, Glücklosen. Es war ein Hin und Her zwischen Hoch und Tief und schliesslich Riesenfreude auf der einen und Niedergeschlagenheit und Tränen der Enttäuschung auf der anderen Seite. Die Baarer waren die Glücklichen, die Zürcher die Geschlagenen. Mit dem Adrenalin des Erfolgs konnten die einen dem Final entgegenblicken, mit der Enttäuschung klarkommen und heimreisen mussten die anderen.
