Lines and triangles are also omnipresent in Marije Vermeulen's dynamic works, although, similarly to Nieuwendijk, they don't always follow this format and project themselves into the space. Basic and contrasting colours decorate her striped walls, the lines, corners and edges forming an interesting contrast to bulbous rounds, as in her project Drie, which was set up in Amsterdam. According to a description of her work on her website: “The work is based on romantic and exotic cliché images that give evidence of a life full adventure, glamour and travelling” thereby challenging viewers to use their imagination but also describing her sources as escapist.
